Beautiful location but left a bad taste

Beautiful house. Very nice garden with tables and benches for free use. View directly overlooks the lake. Good breakfast with lots to choose from. Possibility to prepare your own hot egg dishes.

Towels smelled extremely mouldy, esp. when wet. No ventilation nor window in bathroom to improve situation. Bed linen smelled strongly of sweat, the smell of which permeates throughout the whole room eventually.

Attractive accomodation with kind host and lovely breakfast but best to travel with a car.

The breakfast was superb with everything you could want and as much as you could eat. The host was very kind and collected us from the nearby town as we didn't have a car. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was lovely - very big and with all toiletries and towels you would need. The restaurants nearby were very good. The other guests were very nice and it was good to chat over breakfast as the kitchen is communal. There is coffee available all day and an honesty bar for drinks which was good.

The family room was next to the side road which was cobbled, so noisy when cars went up and down. There is the side road which bend round and the main road and a hotel car park between the property and the lake but the pictures make it look like lakeside but the garden was nice to sit and look out over the lake. The pool is very small and next to the driveway where cars park. The boat doesn't call at Ghiffa until 1st June but we were not aware of this and the bus is infrequent so you really need a car in May.

The host was very kind and reactive. We were late because of the traffic and she was comprehensive. The parking area is near to the house. The bedroom was very comfortable and the decoration was cute. You can find everything you need (towels, soap) and you can also use the common kitchen. Bonus for the breakfast which was bigger than expected. And we enjoyed meeting other guests (but you don't have to).

Wonderful stay with a view

The house is beautiful, everything is very clean, the breakfast is amazing, the garden with a view on the lake is very pleasant, and the owner is really nice and speaks a good English. Sacro Monte di Ghiffa is reachable by foot.

All. Insanely great location. Beautiful owners. Italian welcomenes its the most easy, worm, friendly you can ever get. We have been traveling with our family members (7 pax) through FR, Swiss ant IT and it was the TOP place. Was enough place to sit and chat together, good beds, backyard. If you are still struggling to choose this place or no, then no doubt it woth!

Sehr gut, Super Gastgeberin, sehr nett, Highlight war die Lage (Garten mit Blick) und Frühstück

Das Frühstück war außerordentlich gut! Sehr reichhaltig, frisch und mit allerlei Variationen an Gebäck, Müsli, Obst, Joghurt, Säfte, Milch, Kaffee usw.. Die Lage war auch sehr gut, der Garten hat einen herrlichen Blick auf den See. Bloss unser Raum (Family Room - hat nur Aussicht nach hinten gehabt, i.e. kein See Blick).

Bettbezug, Kissenbezug und Handtücher haben etwas abgestanden gerochen (nach Wäsche nicht richtig getrocknet)...

Absolute Erholung konnten wir in dieser Unterkunft erleben

Diese Unterkunft, und das wussten wir ja schon durch die Beschreibung und Bewertungen der "Anderen", ist wirklich toll. Großes Zimmer, sehr großes gegenüber liegendes Badezimmer, toller Seeblick, super schöne Umgebung und recht ruhige Lage obwohl ja die Straße unterhalb verläuft. Das Frühstück gigantische Auswahl. Wir behalten die Unterkunft in bester Erinnerung und kamen voll zufrieden wieder zu Hause an.

Wer den Lago oder auch andere Seen kennt weiß um das Problem mit dem Parken. Wir durften direkt auf dem Gelände parken. Etwas zirkeln war nötig, hat mich aber als guter Autofahrer in keinster Weise belastet.

De locatie was echt fantastisch. Enorm mooi uitzicht over het meer. Ook het huis zelf geeft een heel idyllisch gevoel. En het ontbijt was perfect.

Niks eigenlijk, maar als ik iets zou moeten noemen is het misschien iets ongemakkelijk om over de gang naar de badkamer te moeten.

Diese Unterkunft ist ein Geheimtipp für alle, die das Besondere zu schätzen wissen. Liebevoll und bis ins Detail durchdacht eingerichtet, empfängt uns hier Paola– eine warmherzige Gastgeberin, wie man sie nur selten findet. Die Villa erinnert an ein kleines Schloss, mit einem herrlichen Ausblick über den Lago Maggiore. Das Gästehaus strahlt eine ruhige, private Atmosphäre aus – ideal zum Abschalten und Wohlfühlen. Ein weiteres Highlight ist das reichhaltige Frühstück, das wirklich keine Wünsche offenlässt – frisch, regional und mit spürbarer Sorgfalt zubereitet. Wer Hotels meiden und stattdessen in einem stilvollen, persönlichen Ambiente entspannen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Ein Ort für echte Genießer, die Qualität, Charakter und Herzlichkeit suchen. Wir haben uns leider nicht wohl gefühlt und unsere Tage außerhalb des Objektes gestaltet.

Die Auswahl beim Frühstück war vielfältig und liebevoll angerichtet. Die Aussicht vom Zimmer und vom Garten auf den See sind toll. Bad und Zimmer waren sehr sauber bei der Anreise.

Das Frühstück war für alle Gäste bei der Eckbank angerichtet.(8 Personen) Keine Privatsphäre, zum Glück war schönes Wetter, so dass wir im Garten essen konnten. Die Induktionsplatte zum Eier kochen war defekt. Die Zimmer wurden während des Aufenthaltes nicht gereinigt sowie der Müll entfernt. Wir sind mit Hund gereist und hatten durch eine Futterdose im Müll dann Ameisen im Zimmer. Wir haben dann alles selbst entsorgt.Die Türen schließen nur, wenn man sie zu schließt und sind dabei auch laut. Der Garten wirkte ungepflegt ( Zigarettenkippen bei den Sitzgruppen, Gartenstuhl labil) Parkplatzsuche war sehr schwierig und mit langen Wegen verbunden. Das Haus liegt nicht nur 10m von der Hauptstraße entfernt, sondern auch in einer steilen Kurve, bei denen die Fahrzeuge sich anhupen, um zu wissen ,daß jemand kommt.

Wir kommen wieder!

Sehr gepflegtes Haus + Außenanlage. Viele Sitzmöglichkeiten/Liegen laden zum Verweilen & entspannen ein. Es gibt sogar einen Pool, den man mit nutzen kann, auch Handtücher dafür liegen bereit. Großzügig geschnittene Zimmer, mit allem ausgestattet was man benötigt. Sauberkeit wurde groß geschrieben. Paola ist eine sehr liebe, zuvorkommende Frau. Sie tut alles um einem den Aufenthalt so schön wie möglich zu machen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war unglaublich. Eine große Auswahl, liebevoll angerichtet - für jeden etwas dabei. Die Lage vom Haus ermöglicht einen schönen Blick auf den Lago Maggiore, auch die kleine Promenade kann man gut zu Fuß erreichen. Weitere Aktivitäten (außerhalb) kann man von der Unterkunft aus gut mit dem Auto erreichen.

La petite piscine pour se rafraichir en arrivant . Diner sur la table du jardin, face au lac. La tranquillité. Le petit déjeuner généreux et appréciable. L'espace pour circuler en bas de la maison. La propreté.

Notre numéro de téléphone a été mal transmis par Booking. La propriétaire n'a pas pu nous joindre pour convenir de l'heure du rdv. Une indication à l'entrée de la maison pourrait faciliter la recherche. Voiture garée à 100m en bas de la rue (places déjà prises devant la maison).
