The Space:
Rare indeed are vacation rentals which check all of the boxes like Red Feather Ranch! This luxury estate is located only 2 miles from the town of Crested Butte but you will feel like you are worlds away with the stunning architecture and panoramic views that surround this property. Built with only the finest materials this true log home is a work of art and will be sure to wow your family with almost 5,000 square feet of luxury. Located on approximately 6 acres you will have room to roam and take in the surrounding mountains, yet be only minutes from all that Crested Butte has to offer.
Pulling into this grand property and you will immediately feel your cares melt away as you come up the private drive past the corrals and spacious barn on your way to the main house. Pinch yourself because this is your private estate for your time in CB! Upon entering this home you can't help but be in awe of the log architecture. The home is constructed of Engelmann Spruce harvested in Colorado and Utah, and all were hand peeled onsite. Some of the logs are over 3.5 feet in diameter and over 50 feet long dating back 100 years. Step inside the great room and begin to relax while taking in the views evident from almost every corner of the home. The great room truly lives up to it's name with soaring ceilings and a stone fireplace that is almost 2 stories tall. Cozy up into the leather couches and watch the big game or just sit by the picture windows and read a good book. When it comes time for dinner, the gourmet kitchen won't disappoint with Viking, Sub-Zero, and Bosch appliances. The large island will be a gathering space for the whole group before you sit down in the dining room to tell stories about the day on the hill or the big trout that got away. There is seating for 8 at the dining room table and additional seating for 4 people at the kitchen island.
When it comes time for bed there are plenty of options at Red Feather Ranch. The master bedroom on the main level has a king Tempurpedic Cool Comfort bed, gas fireplace, and sitting area with luxurious leather chairs to watch TV or just relax. The master bath has a large jetted soaking tub, steam shower, and dual vanities. In the same hallway going to the master bedrom is the separate office if you must work remotely or if the kids have an online class. There is a TV, leather couch, and desk with dual monitors to hook your laptop into. Turn on the gas fireplace and try to work without taking in the great views. Upstairs you will find 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bedroom has a king bed, while the other 3 have queens. The two full bathrooms are situated between the bedrooms.
Over the garage is a fun space for the kids with game table, and game room area with 2 xbox consoles and 2 TV's, along with comfy motion furniture. There is also a workstation in this room with dual monitors should the kids need to keep up with school work. There is also a king bed and half bath for additional sleeping. Outside you can relax in the hot tub, swap stories around the fire pit, or just enjoy the space that over 6 acres will provide. There are adjacent neighborhood amenities available for the home within walking distance and include tennis courts, playground, basketball court, and fishing pond. The log home was beautiful and spacious. The house turned a trip to a wedding into an actual vacation! The home was very comfortable and was supplied with everything we could need. The scenery outside the large picture windows was spectacular! We also loved spending time by the outdoor fire pit. We would recommend it to any large family or group!

The home and location was beautiful, as is all in Crested Butte. Having lived in CB for many years we were looking for a place we could relax and enjoy our family for our daughters wedding. We unfortunately had a miss communication with the Iron Horse Management, Steve Ryan. Our only contact was thru email, no calls before checking in. We let them know we were in CB for a big wedding. Our daughter got married at 10 peaks at CB Ski Resort (beautiful and highly recommend.) We had to bring a Uhaul for all their decorations and such and since there are CAMERAS around the property, the new owner saw that we had a U-haul and contracted the Iron Horse Management. They promptly sent over Heidi, a staff member to see what our intentions for the weekend were. We mentioned that we were having my 91 year old mother and brothers and sisters over for some Secret Stash pizza (20 people max.) Our family is large, but that was all who were coming that night, a mellow night to enjoy each other and catch up. We also mentioned to Heidi that we were going to have an Open House the next day from 4-6, for those who came in town from many different areas of the country to pick up their wedding goodie bags before they checked into their prospective properties, being very upfront. Heidi went back to her bosses, Shannon and Steve and was told to come back and let us know that we were not allowed to have more than 15-18 people at the house at one time. In the lease contract/and this website the max occupancy to sleep at the home is 12, we only had 9 total staying at the home. Thankfully we graciously had some family members/town folk offer to help us out with what was needed to greet our family and friends.
This home is beautiful, comfortable, clean, but unfortunately we feel that in the description of this home and lease that they need to make sure renters know they are only allowed to have 15-18 MAX at one time, INCLUDING ANY VISITORS. We had to tell our friends and family and wedding personnel that they were not allowed at the house and to please call before so we could make sure that number was not exceeded.
Even our wedding planners and other wedding coordinators were surprised by this rule as they used to have weddings and such at this very ranch. (it is a new owner as of January, thus the change in rules.) Again it was a lovely home, beautiful views, relaxing and wonderful and we appreciate the use but more clarification needs to be noted when leasing.
