We loved every moment of our stay! It was a beautiful setting, comfortable and relaxing! Antonio went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed including taking us to town for groceries. He also gave us the best recommendation for nearby restaurants and wineries AND made arrangements/reservations for wine tastings and the best table at a close by restaurant. We all highly recommend this farmhouse and will return! Especially to eat and Antonio’s new restaurant and next to time well remember to bring home some of their olive oil. PS Suzanne was SO helpful and also went above and beyond as I made the booking, had to reschedule and was always prompt to respond with answers and help! Awesome family!!

We spent a week with family at Casa Badamenti. The family looked after us incredibly well and were a great source of local info and nothing was too much to ask. Would definitely recommend.

We loved everything about our stay at this beautiful villa. Charlie, Antonio, and Suzy were beyond helpful and the views were breath taking. Our bedroom was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the bathrooms were lovely. I wish we could send all of our friends and family for a stay here. We can not wait to come back!

A lovely home in Tuscan style. Set in the hills outside Florence, a car is essential to reach it. The home is well appointed and maintenance issues were quickly addressed by the owners. The meal cooked by Antonio/Salvatore is highly recommended. Charlie was the perfect waiter. Suzy is a wealth of information for local touring options. Perfect for a family stay.

Highly recommend staying here. You will never want to leave. Not only is the home lovely, but the hosts were so kind, helpful, friendly and made our stay even better. We hired Charlie to cook a scrumptious Italian dinner the night we arrived which was such a treat. Loved the nearby town and easy drive to train station to get to Florence. We are already trying to find time to return. We loved every minute at this home. Thank you to Suzy and Charlie for all your extra care and thoughtful holiday treats. My husband, myself and another couple spent 5 days at this beautiful farmhouse. Our only complaint was that it wasn't long enough. Suzy made reservations for us for for wine tasting in a nearby castle, which was fabulous. Her husband, Salvatore, and son, Charlie taught us the art of pizza making and then served us dinner. It was an amazing experience in an amazing home in an amazing area of Italy. This was the highlight of our trip. Thank you for being so kind to us.

We've long dreamed of staying at a farm in Tuscany, and we were delighted to make this dream come true at Casa Bada. We loved the comfortable farmhouse and its environs, and we appreciated the hospitality of our hosts. Suzy was wonderful to communicate with, and we only wish we could have met her to thank her in person for all her recommendations, but she left us in good hands with her son Charlie and husband Salvatore. A highlight of the stay definitely was the first night, when we had arranged for Salvatore to prepare a dinner for us, which we enjoyed on their terrace, overlooking the amazing countryside. The garden was dying down and chickens not as active, but Charlie and Salvatore started us out with a good supply of fresh eggs and tomatoes, and they gave us a jar of Salvatore's excellent homemade tomato sauce, which we used one night when we cooked for ourselves. Their olive oil is delicious! We definitely would recommend hiking or driving up the hill to the windmill and its bodega and restaurant for a magical experience. One one recommendation would be to think about the country roads when selecting a rental car. We wished we had had a smaller car, with more clearance for those steep, winding, rutted Italian roads.

Almost every window has a picture perfect view of the countryside below. The spacious kitchen with welcoming 8 foot wide fireplace and antique family-friendly table is the perfect setting for meal after meal of home-cooked Tuscan delicacies. From candle next to the bathtub to the instant hot water kettle in the kitchen, living in this spacious apartment will feel as cozy as your own home. At the time of year we arrived, figs were falling off the trees and into our mouths. We went into Rufina for awesome pizza at il Ritrovo (the host called and made reservations for us), and we drove to Castello dI Trubbio for a private tour (again, great suggestion by our hosts) complete with wine tasting led by sommelier Noami. While we did not use the large swimming pool, it looked beautiful positioned high above the host’s 200 olive trees (you can buy a bottle from their private stock.) I could go on and on, but that is not necessary if you make Casa Badalamente your holiday home in Tuscany.

This property did not disappoint! The home is beautiful and comfortable, communication with the owner was great, and the views are gorgeous. This home is high up in the hills so just know that the roads to get there are narrow and bumpy, but once up there, you will love it. The town of Rufina is a cute little place. We had gelato at da i' Gela and pizza at the place next door. It was lovely in the evening to sit outside and eat and it is right next to a cute little park where the locals would sit on the benches and bring their kids to play. We really enjoyed the area. It is close to the train station and close enough for day trips to Pisa and Siena, which we did. It was also very convenient to Dicomano, which is where we were attending a wedding which was one of the main reasons I chose this property. The home itself is large and spacious so we didn't feel cramped with the four adults in our party. We cooked 2-3 times while here and I will say that the cookware should probably be replaced as it has seen better days. There are two bathrooms in this home, one with a shower only and the other with a shower/tub combination. The bathroom with the shower only is TINY. A large adult will have difficulty showering in it which is why all of us showered in the one bathroom with the shower/tub combo. I also found that the water took several minutes to warm up but then it would get too hot. The odd thing was that if you tried to turn it down just a tiny bit expecting to get cooler water, it would then just turn too cold, as in ice cold! There as no happy medium as far as the water temperature. I don't know why this happened. My only other complaint was that the WiFi was not the best so if you need a good WiFi connection because you need to get work done, be aware of this. While annoying, it isn't enough for me to not recommend this home as everything else makes up for minor inconveniences. Our host, Salvatore was super kind and friendly. He even invited us to have dinner with him one night where he prepared the most tasty spaghetti I have ever had! He prepared it using food straight from his garden. I've never tasted anything so fresh and delicious before! We were also welcomed with water, fresh tomatoes, and fresh eggs waiting in the refrigerator. We also arranged for him to cook us a several course meal, which was amazing. I have no problems recommending this lovely farmhouse.

The house was beautiful great place to relax and enjoy the day or if you wanted to travel the train station to Florence was a close drive away. The house was as shown no surprises it was clean and large for 3 couples our two adult kids and there significant others. Salvatore was there to help us out he even showed us where the grocery store was when we got there. We ate in a few times that was great we bbq on an open fire and Salvatore joined it was nice to meet him. The only downfall for us is it was really hot and it was tough sleeping in the house. We were just there a few weeks ago with our three children and we traveled through Italy and made a stop here for a week. It is an incredible place with the most breathtaking views! We were close enough to Florence and Siena but far enough away to truly take in the beauty of Tuscany. Suzy is very welcoming and helped us to make reservations and suggestions for local day trips. If you go there make sure to visit Castello del Trebbio for a cooking class and wine tasting. You will love your stay here!

We stayed for a week at this beautiful restoed farm house and had peaceful and very enjoyable stay. The house is spacious and cool, built of thick stone, with a great terrace with classic Tuscan hill views. It's very conveniently located to visit Florence, Arezzo, Fiesole and many charming Tuscan villages. Suzy and Salvatore are very hospitable hosts. We couldn't recommend their house more wholeheartedly.

The villa is very large with plenty of space, and has comfortable beds. It is well equipped with all you would need. Suzy and her family were extremely welcoming and responded to any questions we had. The location is fantastic with lots of places to visit.

Our family had a fantastic stay at Suzy and Salvatore's farmhouse. They were very welcoming and invited us to join them for a lovely meal cooked in their outdoor pizza oven. Their son Lorenzo taught our sons how to make pizza dough and he showed them around the farm. They loved the garden, chickens, and, of course, the pool. The house was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The views were stunning and we enjoyed a very relaxing stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Villa. The privacy is complete and separate from owners. The owners live in a separate segment of the Villa. It's a bit like a duplex home, with the first level for the owners, and second level for guests. The entrances are separate as is car parking. The house has everything you could need. We were able to get groceries at the nearby coop in Rufina, and there is a nearby cafe and restaurant with veg, meat, wine, honey, milk, yogurt, etc...all made local and used in the restaurant. (Look for it at the fully restored windmill at the top of the hill towards Montefiesole restaurant is called Mulino) On our last night we had a pizza making session with Salvatore and Suzy. This experience will last a lifetime; they are the perfect hosts, and are so helpful and gracious. The pizza we made was out of this world! We found the drive easy and convenient to/from Florence, and even made a day trip to Venice. If you're looking for a true Tuscan experience, while being close enough to other locations like Florence, Siena, or Assisi, you couldn't make a better choice. If you want history and a castle visit locally, go to. Castle Trebbio (in pontassieve) and learn all about the Pazzi conspiracy against the Medici family. Lastly Suzy and Salvatore have on their farm chickens for eggs, olives and olive oil, plums, and figs. I'm sure there is more but we enjoyed it all and just loved our time there.

The property exceeded our expectations as it was more spacious than it appears in the photos due to its high ceilings. We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday and can't thank Suzy and Salvatore enough for their kind hospitality. Our grandchildren loved the freedom of the garden especially collecting eggs from the chickens. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting tour Suzi organised for us in a nearby castle. We visited Florence and San Gimignano which were both fabulous and not too far away. It was a holiday which we will remember for a long time and would love to go back there again. Visiting Italy has always been high on my bucket list and so where we stayed needed to be just right. The Farmhouse and the owners didn't disappoint. Even before we arrive Suzy was fabulous with advice and communication. Her customer service was second to none. (at one point even a phone call from her!). The Farmhouse was very clean and tidy and the listing was extremely accurate and we had an amazing week. We did pack a lot in and went to Florence, Pisa and Rome but to come back to the home comforts made it easier. We did the wine tour Suzy recommended and we all enjoyed it (even the 12year old). All 5 kids (from 25 to 12) had a fabulous time and are still talking about it. Thank you Suzy. We will definitely be going back.

We stayed in this Tuscan Farmhouse with our two teenage boys. Suzy and her sons were simply fabulous. Suzy arranged for us to have a wine tour at a 900 year old castle that was originally owned by the enemies of the Medici family, she even drove her car ahead of ours to ensure we arrived at the location. She was very generous with her time and recommendations as to what to see and do. Her son Lorenzo gave us a lesson on how to cook Ravioli and then we had a lovely meal with the family overlooking the Tuscan farmland. We would highly recommend this property. The lovely little cafe at the top of the hill beside the Windmill is well worth the visit.

This was a once in a life time trip. I always told my husband if we went to Italy I wanted to experience what you see in the movies. Well, our villa in Rufina brought us that experience and more. Suzy and her family treated us like family and told us all the best places to sightsee and eat. The views and peacefulness are perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. We loved meeting the neighbors and even helped them harvest their grapes. Just a beautiful neighborhood and area.

The way the Villa is set out gives you complete privacy should you prefer it. However, the use of the pool and access to the vineyard and fruit and veg plot all adds to the Image of the idyllic Italian lifestyle. The front terrace to the Villa is private although next to a road which leads to a church but is so quiet and peaceful. There are views across the valley, across Rufina and Montebello, which is simply stunning with a choice of places to sit and enjoy it. The family are so very warm and friendly but do not intrude on your privacy and hardly noticeable. Always a "hello and how are you" and willing to give you advice on local eateries and places of interest. There were six of us from young children to Grandparents and it suited us all. The children (and adults) loved the pool which provided plenty of entertainment. There is English speaking Sky TV available if you wish but we didn't see much TV at all spending all of our time at the Villa outside during the waking hours. If we holiday in Italy next year, this will be one of the first places we'll check for availability.

Every morning we lazily sipped delicious Italian coffee over looking the olive groves and vineyards nested in the Tuscan Hillsides. Actually we did this for lunch and dinner and any other opportunity we could find. The neighbours donkey would announce his daily arrival around 3:30 and the hens would offer us up fresh morning eggs. It really was a piece of heaven. What could be better. The home was authentic Italian, welcoming, comfortable, and very clean. Beds were all very comfortable. Not only did the windows offer an incredible view from every room but they also provided a lovely cooling breeze on warm days. The home is large, we lined up 3 single beds in one room and it still had lots of room. Everything was well equipped and very functional. the kitchen so spacious - great for family dinners. But the best part were the owners. Suzy and Salvatore were wonderful, so accommodating, and just lovely people. We had a wonderful family evening of cooking lessons taught by their son Lorenzo, we learned to make homemade pasta and wood burning oven pizza. It was a wonderful afternoon and evening. The pizza was to die for!! They all really cared that our time there was a great one. We enjoyed 6 weeks here at the end of our 6 month European tour. We originally only booked for one week to host our family (there were 7 of us for 1 week). We loved it so much we stayed. We stayed in a lot of VRBO rentals on our tour, this home hands down, was the best experience we had. The community of Rufina was so welcoming and we played some great tennis at their local tennis club. The home is located just 25 mins from Florence, very easy drive or train ride. Great location for visiting the rest of Tuscany. We comfortably did day trips to Florence, Pisa, Luca, Arezzo, Bologna, Siena, and everything in between. We would return here in a minute and are already talking about booking our trip next year. Wonderful home, lovely family, and amazing views.

Beautiful position, stunning views. Suzy and Salvatore very welcoming and helpful. Local restaurant very good for traditional Italian atmosphere and good food. Get a train from Rufina for a 30 minute trip into Florence. A special holiday we would do again.

This was everything we hoped. Spacious, well stocked, gracious hosts, gorgeous views. We'll be back.

We had a lovely week in late July 2010 and agree with other coments regarding the hospitality shown by Suzy and Salvatore. They made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived; Suzy even met us in Florence for a coffee before we left the city and gave us very good directions for finding the house - just as well as our SatNav decided not to work in the hills around Florence. The house was very well set up with everything we could need; the bathrooms have been refurbished to a very high standard. My husband and I rattled around a bit and had the choice of 3 lovely bedrooms, all large and with lovely views, and a bathroom each! The kitchen is beautiful with again amazing views across the hills. The area around the house is very peaceful and good for walking, although it's very hilly and was too hot when we were there. Rufina is the nearest town for provisons, but we actullay preferred Pontassieve. We had a lovely meal at the Moulin at the top of the hill, and thank you very much, Suzy and Salvatore, for taking us to the fishing lake for pizza - the best we had in Tuscany. We have a lovely picture of Charlie with the enormous fish he caught! All in all a very nice break from the heat and humidity of Florence. I would certianly recommend the house to any couples or families who want a bit of rest and relaxation after the hustle and bustle of busy Florence.

My family and I are just back from an unforgettable stay in Rufina (wife and two boys aged 3 and 1.5 years respectively). We stayed one week in Suzy and Salvatore wonderful house in Rufina early May 2010. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Suzy. In the kitchen two bottles of wine and plates with delicious Italian cheeses, salamis, ham and bread were waiting to give us our first Tuscan food experience. A nice thing when you are arriving with two hungry boys having travelled since early morning. The house is newly renovated and is very spacious with a large kitchen in connection with the living room, three bedrooms and two newly renovated bathrooms, more than plenty of space for our family. The kitchen is well equipped, including a bottle of Suzy and Salvatores delicious "homemade" olive oil. Suzy had kindly arranged for two boxes of toys for the boys to play with during our stay. That was highly appreciated. In the house we also found several children books. The outdoor area including the garden is wonderful and a nice and safe are for the kids to play. The house is located on a mountain hill just next to the village Rufina situated only five minutes away from the villa by car. The scenery with vine fields and olive trees in the vicinity of the villa is wonderful and the views from the Villa are fantastic. We saw several deer and a huge porcupine while driving on the small roads leading to the villa. In Rufina we found plenty of shops where we were able to buy all we needed during our stay. There are several nice restaurants in the area and also several wine farms to visit nearby! Suzy and Salvatore were so kind to invite us for dinner one evening. The dinner was wonderful and we had an unforgettable and very enjoyable evening together with them and three of their four sons. We can only recommend this villa to others. We were made welcome from the beginning and the facilities are very family friendly. We are already thinking about when we'll be able to come back!

I can,t write a good review. i would like to because I corresponded with the owners over a long period of time before going and was very happy with the e mails. Beautiful property but not taken care of. Unpleasan odor in house....no hot water as hot water heater problematique. Incomplete kitchen facilities........no coffee maker.......obliged to take our own garbage to nearest town..........poor bathroom facilities . Old showers and bath tub leaked......................wonderful view...........period.

My family and I stayed at Suzy's farmhouse for three weeks in August/September 2008. Suzy was a wonderful hostess and made us very welcome. She was more than happy to accomodate my family which included my parents and three children aged 7, 5 and 6 months. Suzy made sure the baby had a cot and highchair available on arrival. Another welcome touch was a food hamper awaiting us on arrival, a lovely sight after flying with children. The house was spacious with adequate room for four adults and three children. The kitchen was well equiped and the open fire made the villa warm and cosy. There was a paved outdoor area the kids to play games and they also enjoyed playing in the garden. As the house is located near the end of a road it was very quiet and safe for the kids to play. The house is located in Rufina which is a five minute car trip from the villa. One thing we did not realise is how hilly the area is, so a car is pretty much essential to get to town. It is an easy trip to Florence by train and about half an hour to drive. The village of Rufina has a supermarket and cafes, chemist etc. For other shopping it is best to go to Florence. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa to others. We were made welcome and the facilities were very family friendly.

Wir verbrachten die letzten zwei Juliwochen in der Fereinwohnung von Suzy und Salvatore. Dort fanden wir genügend Platz für uns und unsere vier Kinder im Alter von 14 bis 5 Jahren. Die Küche ist groß; 3 Schlafzimmer und zwei Badezimmer sind optimal für einen entspannten Urlaub. Besonders genossen haben wir den tollen Blick und die Ruhe und Zurückgezogenheit nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag in Florenz oder einem anderen schönen Ausflugsziel in der Toskana. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossen, hilfsbereit und großzügig. Suzy hat z.B. nach unseren Wünschen am Anreistag Lebensmittel eingekauft und den Kühlschrank gefüllt. Außerdem gab es Früchte aus dem Garten und das eigene köstliche Olivenöl zum Kochen. Sie haben uns teilhaben lassen an ihrem Leben, ohne sich in unsere Pläne einzumischen. Wir fanden es sehr schön, daß wir keine Bettwäsche und Handtücher mitbringen mußten. Besonders angenehm waren der Wäschewechsel und die Zwischenreinigung nach einer Woche. Die Vermieter haben selber eine große Familie und einen großen Freundeskreis, mit dem sie sich gerne treffen und die schönen Sommernächte genießen. Für die Kinder steht ein sehr großes Planschbecken im Garten, das sie gerne und oft genutzt haben. Die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für Lebensmittel in Rufina sind sehr gut. Die Nähe zu Florenz hat es uns ermöglicht, durch mehrmalige Besuche die Stadt und ihre Sehenswürdigkeiten auch mit vielen und teilweise kleineren Kindern kennenlernen zu können. Abschließend möchten wir sagen, dass man in dieser Ferienwohnung einen schönen, erholsamen und individuellen Familienurlaub verbringen kann. Suzy und Salvatore waren immer für uns da mit Hilfe, Rat und Fürsorge. Natürlich gibt es überall "Ecken und Kanten", aber die empfindet sicher jeder unterschiedlich stark und die haben auch keinen Einfluß auf den Gesamteindruck und die Erinnerung an eine schöne Zeit in der Toskana.
