About this apartment rental

The country house “Casa Anzolla” is a split level house. It is idyllically situated in an ancient olive grove, which we manage organically (with our own cold pressed olive oil). The entire house is floored with hand-made terracotta tiles and is lovingly decorated by a pair of artists. OLIVETO SPANS 110 sq m of indoor living area. TOGETHER WITH THE 60 sq m PORTICO facing the southern lake side, OLIVETO forms a generous living area of 170 sqm and gives you a splendid view of the ancient olive grove and the lake behind. A separate external staircase takes to the 1st floor with the apartment PANORAMA, used by the owners. The large olive grove is for guests to relax in at their leisure.

Things to do and see in the area: In the immediate neighbourhood the guests of “Casa Anzolla” may wish to take an extensive walk through the labyrinth of gardens or follow the ancient Franconian route (also used by Luther on his pilgrimage) to reach the sunny and tree-shaded lakeside. Casa Anzolla, nestled in ancient olive groves and vineyards, is located in the Bolsena Lake Nature Park as well as in a protective zone dedicated to the European hare, whose population is declining. Hunting is therefore prohibited in this area, which is not only appreciated by the hare but also by porcupines and a number of rare birds. You may see woodpeckers as well as herons and other water birds - kingfishers, for example. In the vicinity of the house many sporting activities are waiting to be pursued: swimming, sailing, wind surfing, diving, fishing, tennis, horse riding, biking, mountain biking, tramping

Etruria is rich in attractions: Magnificent towns nearby await discovery, such as Cività di Bagnoregio, Tuscania, and Pitigliano. Or visit Orvieto with its unique location and its world-famous cathedral. Further points of interest are the picturesque gardens of historic villas, such as the Villa Lante (Bagnaia, Viterbo) as well as the baroque Park of Monsters of Bomarzo and its contemporary match, Niki de St. Phalle's Tarot Garden (near Ansedonia). Not to be missed are the Etruscan towns of Tarquinia, Vulci and Cerveteri, and last but not least the sulphurous springs of Viterbo and Saturnia. Within 1 or 1.5 hour’s drive respectively you will reach the mwediterranean with its beautiful sandy beaches at “Feniglia” and the National Park “Maremma”.
