We loved our stay. The owners gave amazing directions to get to the home in case we lost reception and once we arrived everything was perfect for our stay. Check-in and check-out was super smooth. The kitchen is well stocked in kitchen supplies and everything you could need to spend days in this beautiful location. Lots of games and places to relax throughout the home. This beautiful home is in a gorgeous location with views that go on forever. We have been made welcome there for the last four or five years and look forward to each year. The area has a multitude of hiking & riding trails for everyone. You can begin your day with coffee on the deck & end it there with cocktails. The view is breathtaking!

This home is even more inviting, warm and beautifully situated than the pictures show. Communication with the host was flawless. Directions were easy to find. The accommodations were perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and the nicest I have ever stayed in for selection of cooking ware. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. The bathroom in the master suite has a gorgeous view of the mountains. The location is close to Bueno Vista. Easy access to trails, restaurants, white water rafting on the Arkansas River. But the biggest treat is the views from the porch overlooking Mount Princeton and Chalk Cliffs. It was a perfect location and we hope to visit again soon- and would not consider staying any where else!

Came for a short stay celebrating a birthday. Kids came, May snow came (17” total over the weekend). We weren’t planning on snow, but still made the best of it. Still enjoyed sight-seeing and the BV area (disc golfing, actual golfing, indoor wall climbing, shopping, cool restaurants) We will visit again as this has quickly become a favorite place for us.

Place is described perfectly. It as a wonderful central point for our day motorcycles trips. Would have been a little nicer if road was not graveled, but that was minor. We had 3 bucks stop by one night to feed on the grounds it was pretty cool. The cabin was just gorgeous and the owners were very responsive to our needs. The home had everything needed for a great mountain getaway. Grilled stakes and cooked Colorado corn for a dinner meal and had smores by the fire pit. We had a clear moonless night and the stars were bright. Everyone set on the patio in the mornings for coffee and the view. Excellent layout for three generations to stay together,

We loved our trip to Buena Vista! Cactus Flower is an incredible, secluded property where you can enjoy peace and quiet, yet just a short drive to all of the activities. Hiking, fishing, hot springs, rafting, shopping and restaurants - all at your fingertips. The deck was the best part of the property - amazing views!! Jamie and Jill were great to work with. Would definitely stay here again.

Our family of active adults came for the nearby hiking but ended up falling for the architectural gem of a home. The views of two 14ers - Mt. Antero and Mt. Princeton, the Chalk Canyon valley, and the nightly star show made us cherish our time on the large deck. We were visited by a variety of birds and non-stop hummingbirds. Roku TVs were available for easy casting but we were drawn to the foosball table, board games and card games on the deck. The huge windows facing the mountains means this house works for you if you wish to stay inside or on the deck and read a book, do yoga or enjoy some quiet time. If you are a hiker, walker or runner, there is a scenic 10 mile route from the house which includes 4 miles on a historic canyon trail (with add-on mileage available on the amazing Colorado Trail). We had our choice of eight nearby 14ers to climb and numerous shorter but scenic hikes rated among the state's best. Our foodie kids loved the shops, breweries and restaurants in nearby Buena Vista (16 min drive) and Salida (25 min drive) ...as did my wife and I. In our downtime, we enjoyed our visits to restored ghost town areas in St. Elmo and Fairplay. Finally, the people in the area and responsive owners were very friendly and helpful. We didn't want to leave and already miss Cactus Rose.

This property had everything you could need for a group of 6. First off, the views from the house/balcony were stunning of Mt Princeton. We spent a good amount of time outside enjoying the views. The house feels massive with the high ceilings and very comfortable furniture. I love to cook and the kitchen was spectacular. Jaime and Jill were easy to communicate over the VRBO site. Overall we couldn’t be more happy with our stay and if we’re back in the area, we would absolutely stay again.

This property was absolutely perfect for our 2 family stay. The location was perfect for all town activities and the amazing hikes nearby. During our stay we enjoyed an e-bike ride, white water rafting, horseback riding, exploring the ghost town of St. Elmo and beautiful hikes. The views from this home were absolutely spectacular and the home itself was just as wonderful. James and Jill answered our messages with extreme efficiency and were just overall kind and helpful. We will definitely be returning!

This property easily accommodated 6 people. It’s far more beautiful than the listing depicts. When we walked through the front door we all had the same reaction... GASP!!!! It is the most glorious view of the mountains! Wowza! This property is chalked full of everything you will need. The kitchen is well stocked, the appliances are top notch, cozy blankets, fireplace, a helpful notebook full of all of the info you will need and WiFi which is awesome if you are forced to work a bit. Although even if you must work, at least your view is fabulous! And, the house smelled great! The owners are ridiculously nice and helpful! We appreciated them sharing their home with us. This was a gift for my daughters graduation. She wanted a mountain vacation and she had an amazing one! I can’t even imagine this house and view could be topped by any other!

We stayed here during New Years 2021. It was a quiet and cozy cabin - in just the perfect location for our family winter vacation in the woods. There was plenty of snow on the ground and 4WD vehicles were a must to access the property. Overall, we had a great time.
