Cosy cottage on National Trust wooded grounds and well equipped. Great location for walks and locations around Deeside.
Everything was good! It didn’t have internet - but to tell you the truth it was a relief to be not connected all the time!

it’s location was perfect for a quiet beautiful break. if you have a dog as we do, then this is dog walking heaven on your doorstep. if you are a NT member then that is a bonus too to see the castle.
I am having to be picky as we really loved the location. This is an old granite property and despite the central heating the rooms were quite cold and took a while to heat up, but nothing a jumper didn’t cure!!

Beautiful walks in the forest and Crathes Castle is very interesting. Good location to explore the area.
The information about it was misleading! No DVD player!!! and an old TV so we couldn’t connect it to modern devices and no internet!! A number of things didn’t work in the kitchen and the shower drain was blocked. The garden cannot be enclosed and it was not private! So it is a nice cottage but not what we were expecting and not good value for money☹️

Wonderful to be in grounds of Crathes if you like walking. Very clean and comfortable.
Heating not on or working on arrival (around midnight in February in Scotland). Horrible night and freezing (literally) start the next morning. Sykes Cottages were superb and contacted the hosts and they fixed the heating by about 1pm, and left a bottle of white wine, presumably as an apology. After this, very much enjoyed our stay. No wifi is a serious problem though. So many covid forms, boarding passes etc etc to work out these days so no wifi and very poor mobile signal an issue that could be fixed so easily by putting wifi in.

in a good location, a lovely surroundings, was clean, nice kitchen
the property is really cold, the tv doesn’t stay on, the sound goes so does the channels, waste of time, the shower doors don’t shut, the outside is so slippery and dark, was unable to see round the back to get the key, i nearly slipped over, i have spine disease so not good, a pint of milk for a cup of tea would have been a nice offering too. we had to leave a day early because there was a power cut and it was horrendous, nobody’s fault though
