The resort is perched high on the ridge of a canyon overlooking the Five Sisters waterfall. You get the impression you're in a tree house. The grounds are beautiful and integrate into the surrounding jungle. The Five Sisters restaurant serves delicious, gourmet dishes. The resort is remote so there are no real other dining options unless you have your own transportation, but over 3 days, the menu was varied enough that we never got tired of the food and enjoyed tasting our way through many is the offerings. The staff is phenomenal, especially Chris the security guard who puts on an impromptu intimate magic show that left us truly amazed.
The excursions were outstanding as well. Randolph was our guide to the local Mayan ruins as well as the Barton Creek cave tour where we canoed into a beautiful cave. There are many activities offered that cater to all activity levels.
If you are a discerning traveler with a taste for adventure but appreciates high end luxury, Gaia is the place for you!
I didn't like that we had to leave! The road leading to the resort from the main highway is in poor condition. Not the resort's fault, and navigable, but teeth-rattling still the same.

I could not say enough positive things about this place. The staff always greeted us by name. The grounds are gorgeous. There’s a resident dog that took us on a hike. The food was great.

The property was serene and calm. The staff were so nice and friendly! If you get a chance ask Christopher to show you a card trick, he’s amazing!
The road to get to it was a little bumpy.
