The Mariposa Jungle Lodge was a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and always available. We stayed in the Deluxe Bungalow with Garden View - it was spacious, clean and comfortable with lots of amenities. The pool area was lovely, with places to relax and beautiful gardens - and the pool was very clean and well-kept. We followed the advice of staff and went hiking on their jungle trails - lovely flora and fauna - we were provided a radio to contact staff if needed. We also enjoyed dinner and drinks at the lodge’s intimate restaurant - the service and food were fabulous. The location is great - we explored the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve and Barton’s Cave. We had a lovely visit - thank you / gracias!

Good location right outside Pine Ridge Reserve and other activities. Kind and helpful staff. Beautiful lodge. Heard howler monkeys right outside our lodge at night. Cool experience

Super nice place, well curated, amazing experience. People were so nice.
Food on site was expensive, they wrote to use prior saying there isn't food nearby when there is.

Well developed facilities nicely integrated in the jungle surrounding. Appreciated the paved roads to the resort.
A little farther from the town and tourist attractions than we wanted

Nice setting, clean and comfortable room. Liked seeing the wildlife and walking the trails. In addition to the pool there's also table tennis, a football table and other games you can play which is a nice touch.
There was no tea or coffee in the room. Instead coffee was changed at an excessive rate. The same applies to the resturant: I always expect to pay over the odds in a place like this but this really was excessive! The final thing I thought was harsh is the 10 am check out time especially at low season.

Amazing staff - Leo and Robbie went out of their way to provide excellent service and a friendly welcome.
Great location and setting.
Nice room
Food and drink were very overpriced.
A local beer cost 3 times what it did in most other restaurants and 50% more than even more upscale resorts nearby.
Food was tasty, but simply overpriced, perhaps taking advantage of the “captive audience”

Cabins were clean and decent. We saw a few interesting bugs and lizards -maybe saw a toucan fly by.
No coffee maker or microwave in the room. Horribly overpriced breakfast ($90 usd! 2 adults and 2 kids— much more than we paid elsewhere in Belize- food was fine but not worth that much.) no free coffee in lobby. location was just ok -30 min from San Ignacio. We were delayed by a day due to a child’s illness and the property wasn’t at all accommodating.

We enjoyed everything about this Lodge.
My husband and I are both side sleepers and the bed was a little too firm for us.

Beautiful grounds with great trails and close to waterfalls. Staff was amazing! Super helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the Blue Morpho and it had tons of games and books.
The beds weren’t very comfortable.

From our welcome greeting to our checkout, the staff were attentive. We were encouraged to take a stroll down the nature path that we decided to do. It was amazing.

This property was nestled in the mountain Pine Ridge area, very accessible to tourist attractions, and what I liked about it was that it was an ecological lodge. It was so peaceful and beautiful.
I have nothing negative to say.

Sevilla was an amazing host. Professional & Courteous
Prices are without GST and Service Charge which is added to everything. No opportunity to adjust. Food prices are a little expensive when you add Tax and Service

I loved the location, it was very remote, and quite which is what I wanted. The staff was amazing, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the property and the offerings. I would love to plan a yoga retreat there. The room was awesome, the pool was small, but not overly chlorinated so it didn't irritate my eyes. I really got to relax. The property was just beautifully laid out. We even did a medicinal tour of the property with Josh who was wonderful and so knowledgeable. And our Tour guide for Caracol was so amazing!

Mariposa and it’s staff were absolutely fabulous. They were accommodating and attentive, making it a great place for both couples and families. The food was fabulous and they accommodated all dietary restrictions. The jungle location was a great spot for bird watching and accessing the surrounding wilderness.

The lodge is situated in a wonderful location surrounded by natural Belizean jungle. There are several trails around the lodge, the swimming pool is beautiful, the food is excellent and the staff is amazing, they did everything to accommodate us.

The property was beautiful and well maintained with lots of beautiful trails to enjoy. The staff were all friendly and seemed to really care about making our experience the best it could be. I appreciated that we could have all our meals right on the property and we could book all our tours through them. I would highly recommend.
The breakfasts were delicious and the dinners were always pretty, but weren’t mind blowing taste wise. Belize has amazing food and I didn’t think the dinners quite represented that. I would still stay again though.

The staff at Mariposa Lodge were exceptionally friendly, courteous and attentive to all of our needs. Norma prepared delicious meals for us everyday. Our bartender and wait staff were always welcoming and willing to provide advice on places to visit in the area. Gladimir, the general manager, made sure we were prepared for our daily tours and had supplies take with us. All that we had to do everyday was relax, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and chat with other visitors and staff. It was a lovely vacation at Mariposa!
nothing!

This is the perfect choice if you want few people, excellent accommodations and delicious meals. The staff works hard to make each day perfect and we’d recommend at least 4 nights as we surely weren’t ready to leave after 3 to hit the beaches. If you want party action, this probably shouldn’t be your choice. Often saw comments that the meals were expensive but they are preparing beautiful meals for such a spall group of people and we think they were fair. Because it’s remote, we found it a good choice to hire a driver that knows the area rather than rent a car. ,good place to bring a family.
Nothing to dislike

The dinner and breakfast were great. The service was wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable.
Unfortunately the only complaint we had there isn't much that can be done about it.... the highway noise.

The staff was so, so helpful, kind, and hospitable! They made sure our every need was tended to. The food was wonderful and portion sizes were big! The attention to detail around the property was incredible. We wished we had more days to spend there. We will definitely stay there again.
I can’t think of anything!

This is such a delightful property. Lots of trails winding throughout the property, a beautiful pool area and lush vegegation throughout the property.
The restaurant is a bit pricey but the food is delicious.

The property is set up to give you privacy. The cabanas are lovely and ours had a little deck with a hammock that was great for reading and relaxing. There is a nice pool area with ping-pong and other games nearby, and there are some nice walking trails through the jungle. Above all, the staff was exceptional. They were able to accommodate our request for vegan food and the food they made was delicious. They were also helpful in setting everything up for our tours, prepping us for our outings, and basically helping us in every way. Truly amazing people.
There was some road construction so there was some noise from that but that is so minor and just a fact of life—nothing to do with the resort itself.

The property was very well kept. It was very clean. The staff was amazing, very attentive, and overall very nice. We had the property to ourselves which was pretty cool. The couples massage was great and well needed. Also, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and super nice. The next time we go to Belize, we will definitely be looking to stay at Mariposa.
We have no complaints.

The people who run the establishment are kind, attentive and professional. The cabins are much bigger than they appear in the photos, so we very much enjoyed our King Garden cabin, with its hammock and outdoor shower. The setting is beautiful and they have well-maintained trails and a bird viewing tower. The breakfasts were huge and delicious, and the 3-course dinner was both tasty and well-presented.
The road to get there is very challenging, especially after a rain. We thought we had rented a 4-wheel drive, but hadn’t. We nonetheless made it with challenges. After a day of the road drying out it, was easily passed. They are doing construction on both access roads leading to the lodge, so you should be sure to ask which is currently in “better” condition. The meals and cocktails were delicious, though definitely more expensive than at other places we stayed. Perhaps that can be explained by the remote location.
