This was a tremendously disappointing stay. We moved in with two dogs, including an 8 week old puppy, hoping this would be a refuge between a number of cross state moves, health issues, and new employment. Between the construction happening, the lack of basic household goods, the rundown aspect of the house in general (holes in the walls, exposed electrical from defunct HVAC equipment, peeling paint etc) and the extreme proximity to a very loud highway we were pretty on edge over the first week but were willing to stick it out because of the logistical pain of moving. However a week into our stay we were treated to the absolutely disgusting experience of someone power washing the house with unsealed windows and doors, spewing a misty stream of filthy water all over the living room, entrance vestibule, and bathroom hallway. We were forced to move out of the Vrbo completely, received no compensation or consideration from the host, and were forced to go 12 rounds with VRBO support before receiving a refund for the remaining days on our reservation. In short, A for VRBO support finally figuring out the gravity of the situation and F- for this host.

I come to Seattle a couple times a year to visit family and booked this property for 9 nights because of the location and based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, I didn't have the positive experience noted in other reviews. The photos show a nice well-manicured front which didn’t accurately convey the foot high weeds I had to walk through to get to the front door. The interior was clean but the furniture was tired and not comfortable. I experienced multiple occasions where the outer door latch stuck in a locked position and I couldn’t access the house without having to contact the property owner. Other issues: a number of things falling apart or not working properly (such as the shower handle which had to be repaired by a handyman, mini blinds, the outer door handle, spotty internet, insufficient fans). The claw foot tub seems like it would be a sweet touch, but it’s awkward to shower in and there’s no place to put your toiletries other than the sink which requires you to open the curtain and get water all over the floor. Also the noisy street directly next to the house should not be underestimated. Even with the provided earplugs it was a restless sleep each night. I won't stay at this property for my any future trips.

We booked this based on proximity of family and the Woodland Park Zoo. House is represented nicely on the website. However, Highway 99/Aurora Ave is quite literally in the backyard and traffic noise is 24 hours a day and horrendously loud. The house itself is comfortable and clean.

Charming one bedroom unit walking distance from a huge park and a delicious coffee shop. I drove my two golden retrievers to visit friends in the area and this was the perfect home base for our stay.Easy instructions to access the property and a great local guide was provided when I checked in for details about close points of interest

House is an older home,darling and the right size for only one or two. The heating is individual (older electric space heaters) so rooms are hard to maintain a comfortable temperature. No heating for kitchen area which was uncomfortable. Located next to a busy freeway(in back of home) be prepared for noise at night and early morning commuters to city. Overall, it’s a safe, decent location to Green Lake, and walking distance to good restaurants. Wish the manager would’ve been more flexible with a late check out.

This is a cute cottage but backs to a very busy road. Lots of street noise. To gain entrance, there is a very small keypad located inside the front door frame which is not easily visible. It took me and my college-aged daughter 15 minutes to locate it, and the owner insisted on texting back and forth instead of calling me (which would have solved the problem much for effectively). Further complicating matters was an older keypad and key lock box on the side door.

My wife and stayed in Vince’s sweet little cottage near Green Lake which is just a short walk after you cross Aurora Road. The house was a nice place to use as a base while we took care of our business in Seattle. Everything was clean and functional.

Shower was not working although it was repaired the following day. Coffeepot not working -needs proper filters. Two of 4 mugs were chipped on rims. No sharp knife supplied - I couldn’t ‘ cut my bagel! Need night table on both sides of the bed.

This property provided just the right amenities for my husband and I on a business trip to Seattle. The communication with the property owner was factual and left no questions hanging in the air. The home was spotless, and adequately stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed many walks in the neighborhood with our 4-legged counterpart. We felt right at home and would definitely stay there again!

This is a small house with an updated, well supplied kitchen but it backs onto a very noisy section of fast moving, heavily trafficked Aurora Avenue. Auroroa is right behind the pretty trees in the photo. Unseen but not unheard! I got used to the constant noise but it was not a restful experience.

We booked a 4 night stay but left early and booked a hotel for the last 2 nights due to being uncomfortable. We were not refunded (though we did not request) a refund for the last 2 nights. 1) We visited during the 2021 summer heat wave during which temperatures hit the low 100s. We knew the home didn't have A/C but were surprised that there were no fans at all in the home. We requested some fans upon arrival, to which the hosts responded that fans were sold out all over the city. They said they would try to procure one but did not get any to us during our stay. During our stay we drove by several local hardware stores with standing fans for sale outside on the sidewalk just a few blocks away from the home. Amazon, based in Seattle, also offers next day shipping. 2) Due to the heat, we had to keep the windows open at night in the bedroom. Unfortunately, the bedroom is directly on a very loud highway with active, continuous traffic noise throughout the night. The noise is so loud that the host proactively provides ear plugs. We did not sleep well the first 2 nights, and when we found ourselves awake from traffic noise at 3am on the 3rd night, we packed up and found a local hotel instead. 3) We do not feel the listing is accurate for the following reasons: -The listing implies that you have the entire home. This is not true - the home is split into A and B subunits, B being a lower floor. -There is access to a washer/dryer but it is not inside the home, and use is shared with the other tenants. You need to go outside, downstairs and past the downstairs unit to access the laundry. -We strongly believe the listing should mention the extremely loud traffic noise. We have never stayed at a place that actively provides earplugs, so this feels like a lie by omission. Unless you can sleep through loud traffic/truck noises or are OK using ear plugs, we do not recommend staying here. 4) Areas for improvement: -There is a nail sticking up from the kitchen floor in the area near the eating table. It is not visible and very painful to walk over. -Only about half the windows in the home have screens. During the evenings we could not open all the windows to cool down the home. -While the owners obviously have no control over the weather, not providing fans in a non-air-conditioned home during a heat wave is, quite frankly, extremely irresponsible. Continuing to not provide them for days after they were requested, is negligent.

I greatly enjoyed the month I spent at this property. My dogs and I walked to the Woodland dog park everyday across the bridges. The unit was well equipped and clean. The traffic noise is a bit loud but that comes with city living I suppose and the owners did provide ear plugs. I highly recommend this rental.
