- excellent design and lovely architecture
- the food selection has lots of good veggie dishes, the wrap for breakfast was very tasty and also the kelor soups
- friendly staff
- quiet and peaceful environment
- overall, quite complete facilities.
- despite the environment, some places and furniture need thorough clean up like pillows with insect stains etc
- the warm water in my room is too limited for bath despite a bath tub presence
- some guests might need more meaty option for the restaurant
- some facilities were still in repair like the sulfur pool ; it would be better if I had been notified first.
these all notes for improvement so I could visit again!

The cleanliness and the staff were amazing.
Hospitality impeccable
The location is really inconvenient because there is nothing around not even a supermarket and no delivery
1.0 / 10.0
Only location
Cleaning, facilities, food and mostly you feel yourself sleeping between all types of insects, reptiles and all other creatures without a single safety measure.
Also it looks like abandoned and no one ever visited.
I couldn’t stay with my family more than 30 m before checking out again.

From the moment we arrived and were welcomed with “Welcome home,” we knew this place was special. We stayed three nights at Aspep Gumi Retreat and honestly didn’t want to leave.
Our villa with a private pool was stunning, super spacious, beautifully designed, very clean and well maintained and surrounded by pure jungle vibes. You really feel connected to nature but still completely safe and comfortable. The view from the bed straight into the lush green jungle was magical, and the light canopy made it feel so cozy and peaceful.
Some of the other villas were being renovated and there was work on a neighboring property, but it didn’t bother us. We couldn’t see or hear anything, and we actually had the entire gorgeous retreat all to ourselves. The team was amazing, so friendly and caring, and really made us feel at home.
The food was incredible. I’ve never had such delicious Balinese dishes, and the prices were very fair, especially considering the secluded location. The cooking class was a real highlight. We got to choose the dishes ourselves, including our favorite meals from the previous days. It was personal, fun and full of heart.
We truly loved every minute here. It’s a place full of peace, warmth and magic, a stay we will never forget. 💚

We had a lovely stay here. The place was beautiful and very secluded. It felt like we were right in the middle of the rainforest. The food was delicious and we had a very nice massage

Wonderful escape in beautiful nature. Gentle and genuine staff. Fabulously designed rustic accommodation. Peace and tranquility. Thank you for making me feel so comfortable and welcome. I spent very happy days here.
If you don’t like being in nature with creatures coming in and out, the place is not for you. I had lots of visitors but they were mostly welcome and interesting to see.

Everything. I stayed here last year and fell in love with it, so booked this year. For a two-storey bamboo house located in the middle of the woods with no one else around but birds, insects and giant black squirrels, $150 is a bargain. 10/10 and highly recommend to couples and solo travellers like myself :))))
Food and drinks were a little dearer than elsewhere, but considering it's a resort, that's also understandable.

Location was nice and not too touristy.
Our host Rizky was super courteous and tended to our requests to the best of his ability and available resources.
Bamboo villa looked nice both from inside and outside.
Every single staff were welcoming and warm.
Great place for rice terrace photography.
Our villa had many trees infront of it which didn't allow for any good drone shots (impossible at night. Challenging during the day. Most trees just block the good angles of the villa) which is the primary reason we chose this villa.
Area didn't have any motor bikes for rent so we felt a bit shackled to the hotel and it's activities.
Villa with pool and villa without pool have a massive difference in both inside/outside look and location. Villa without pool requires a small hike to even get to it.

Friendly staff, who took me to my room, brought me my meals and made me feel welcomed.
Mosquito net over the bed smelt mouldy - area had had high rainfall so I get that mould would be an on going issue to have to manage.

A nice place to get out of the crowds and with a very welcoming staff! Amazing experience as you actually live in the nature, but you have to be prepared for unexpected visitors!
Is really hard to go out of the retreat because there are no taxis and only the drivers of the retreat are available to get you around (it would be nice to have more reasonable prices for that trips). The bathtub wasn’t clean and when is raining the water enters into the toilet. Lastly, the staff couldn’t communicate in proper English and many times we used Google translate in order to achieve that. The prices of the retreat are high enough to make the proper English of the staff mandatory.

The location - it’s very beautiful.
Staff was welcoming and helpful.
Room was dusty.
No hot water (2 out of 3 days).
Food was disgusting. It’s so remote you don’t have any other option to buy food.
The services offered are very pricey (e.g. taxi services). Due to the villa be so remote, you don’t don’t have any other option. App Grab doesn’t work in Pesagi

Amazing place. Great nature and a very beautiful view. It's perfect to get away from civilization and enjoy the quiet. Plus a bonus, you can have dinner or breakfast with a beautiful view of the rice fields. We loved it, I highly recommend this fabulous place.

When you arrive at Amarta Retreat you are greeted with warm family style hospitality. We were offered a delicious Bali coffee and homemade banana fritters to enjoy as we checked in while our son enjoyed feeding the fish with D’suka and the Amarta staff who made us feel so incredibly welcome our entire stay. As you make your way down the stairs through the lush forest towards your villa it is like walking into Wonderland, Amarta is truly as stunning as it looks in the pictures. The beds and pillows are just as lush as the accomodation itself and we highly recommend just taking it all in and enjoying the fabulous homemade food available for room service to your villa. There is honestly no need to go anywhere, everything you need for you stay is here and service is incredible. On the drive in you will enjoy stunning views of the rice terraces which are also a beautiful sight at sunrise. Thank you to all at Amarta retreat for making our stay here such a special and memorable one. Highly recommend.

The staff went above and beyond and just gave the best service, always so polite and accomodating. The food was great and the location and ambience - unbeatable. You won’t find a more unique stay in the mountains like this. A read a few comments re. insects, but you’re staying in the jungle so I don’t know what else you’d expect. Definitely not a deal breaker nor does it ruin the experience.

Back to basics with nature and harmony - no sign of man kind destruction a perfect getaway from civilisation,a needed recovery. Great value for money, amazing staff, outstanding service, priceless piece. My girlfriend and I spend most of our time discussing with the staff mediation and ways of simple life, highly recommending to purchase the book available at the resort. - for £12 is beyond worth it - it will change your life. Amazing stay we can’t wait to return. Simeon & Maria.

The place has the wow factor!
Sooooo easy on the eye…..
Wild jungle living, the living area is open but the bedroom has the option to close up and turn on the AC if that is your thing.
But the important thing here is this is in nature, in all her glory.
The sounds of the jungle are ever present and the trickle of the river sings you to sleep.
A place to really unplug from everything and slow down, ground and be present in the heart of one of Bali’s most beautiful and untouched areas.
This is positioned on the western most border of the Jati Luwih UNESCO world heritage area so you have a lot of beautiful rice terraces with absolutely everything that UNESCO have certified the area for and not a tourist in sight.
The food was great, a mixture of traditional Indonesian with very well done western dishes.
Breakfast was Indonesian style, delicious nasi goreng and fresh fruit some coming from the on site permaculture gardens.
My son prefers nasi kuning which he asked the staff for and they catered for his request and he was very happy :)
The facilities are great, horse riding, fishing, classic VW car tour, sulphur spring pool, permaculture gardens, everything catered for with a big Balinese smile and a thorough understanding of the locality.
The staff are all from the local village which ensures that the presence of Amarta Persagi is felt in a vet positive way within the community which is obvious in the way the local people interact with the facility.
This area has a genuine Balinese authenticity that is very rare these days.
There is a certain energy up there in the hills that is difficult to put into words.
It was so ice to rediscover this.
We will keep coming back as long as it is here.
A real gem tucked away from the bustle of southern Bali.
Close to the humdrum yet just far away enough to forget about everything.
Terima kasih banyak Amarta Pessagi

The concept and idea behind of healing retreat center is great. It's approached differently especially thanks to Owner & Management. The location is great and very peaceful. Food is absolutely delicious. The bed is so comfortable that you will not want to leave it.

The guy who dropped me to the room really helpful and the food was good.
I didn't notice that the price they put in this website is for 8hr usage only. The Madhava management was contact me and ask for more money if I want to stay over. His explanation kinda rude for hospitality guy. When I was check in,the management didn't organize with the guy in reseptionist.I ask the guy in hotel that if I could pay next day or not.And he said yes. But the management hotel was text me at 9pm and ask for me to pay directly the pending payment.Which is really annoyed for me after long drive to get to this place.Usually in other place they allow us to finish the payment when checkout.
