The room door entrance had a gap in it which allowed bugs inside the room. As did the doors to the bathroom.

A little safe haven in busy Bali

Anima Retreat Bali was exactly what I needed. I was the only guest for three days during rainy season. It was quiet but the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had the best time! The dogs were the best and everything was super clean! The food was amazing and there is nothing I would have changed about my trip to Anima.

A little balinese gem surrounded by nature

Anima Retreat is not just a villa for tourists, it feels like home. A home surrounded by the tropical nature and culture. The staff working there are amazing and go above and beyond to make the guest feel good and looked after. The swimming pool is outstanding and with great views into the wildest nature. The tours they offer are very good too and the food is lovely:) last but not least, the four dogs living in the villa are very sweet and look after the guests too:)!

The bathroom needs a bit of renovation, but aside from this, all is great!

A great Balinese cultural experience that offers unique spiritual wellness and cuisine.

The luxurious amenities, all-inclusive meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and the location in a less touristy area are what grabbed our attention to the hotel. We loved everything! I highly recommend Anima Retreat for its luxurious independent suite rooms, Balinese cuisine, friendly staff, serene atmosphere, excellent customer service, and the four cute resident dogs. A big thumbs up!

Such a magical, secluded setting. Our villa was beautifully crafted with good facilities and the staff were wonderful, always available to help. It was our first all inclusive experience and it was perfect, the food was delicious and we loved the surprise of every meal. The portions were also very generous. We fell in love with the location and wished we had more time to explore. The messages were very enjoyable. We will definitely come back to stay at Anima Retreat!

Very good option for a remote and relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle.

The team that work here go out of their way to look after you. There are 4 friendly dogs that live on premises that are well behaved and are no issue in pestering if you want some peace and quiet. The main pool is very beautiful with some villas having their own one too. Brilliant location to have a retreat and truly relax if this is what you desire. Location and nearby rural areas are very beautiful and would recommend hiring a scooter to explore and take it all in.

Location is remote compared to key areas of interest on the island. However, you are able to rent a scooter or take taxis to go visit areas if you wish to do so. Most roads are built for scooters. The all inclusive aspect doesn’t cover drinks outside of tea/coffee & water or snacks. You can go to the local shop to source these instead. Indonesia is a very cheap place. If you stay here, it’s worth the upgrade to one of the white brick villas.

clean, friendly and kind staff,

We chose Anima Retreat Bali as the end of our adventure in Bali. We wanted something different, a little wild and to isolate ourselves from the whole world. And Anima gave us everything we needed.. a gorgeous oasis in the middle of the jungle. Beautiful, well-kept garden, greenery, bungalows located here and there in a refined style, a large pool with a wonderful view. The staff is caring and kind, they welcomed us warmly and throughout our stay they created comfort for us and at the same time provided us with the feeling of solitude that we wanted. The hotel is also home to four dogs, which we were a little worried about, but they turned out to be gentle, friendly and slightly curious. The food was typically traditional, prepared on the spot, while at the same time they took into account and slightly changed according to our taste preferences. Our room was refined, with a terrace amidst lush greenery, with an outdoor bathroom where you can take a shower under the stars, extremely clean! A place where you can connect with yourself and nature or just enjoy solitude and relaxation. The stone massage is unique, melting and recharging. The village near the hotel is beautiful and peaceful. We highly recommend it for people who want to relax in nature and love pets.

Perfection

Everything was amazing. The place is even more beautiful than we expected. Everything is perfect : The cleanliness, location, quality of food and meals, and of every single service. The staff is so nice. I could not have dreamt of a better place for my holidays in Bali. Definitely recommend to spend time at Anima.

Run down and cheap

The retreat was in a very beautiful serene location and it was so beautiful and peaceful. However the reality of the facilities did not look much like the pictures. Some of the buildings looked very run down and abandoned, so did the massage facilities. Also nothing other than food, tea and coffee is included in this "all inclusive". The massages, yoga,pilates etc are extra cost and very expensive. The food was also not great, most days it was just microwaved food, cooked the previous days so many days we ate the same things. Paying this much we expected at least fresh food not the pancake that was desert yesterday to be breakfast today. Or to be eating the same soy bean dish for 4 days in a row with only slight variation on what it was served with. You also have no choice in food, they only cook (or heat up) one thing and if it's something you don't particularly like then you'll just go to bed hungry. The portions were often quite small and almost no protein so very cheap meals which didn't reflect the price we were paying. The dogs were very cute and nice to have around. However there was 1 dog that is agressive and we didn't understand why he was allowed to roam free. There were a few times when he growled at us even when we kept our distance and felt that we can't go into some areas at the lounge because he was there. The beds were very comfortable and the room was nice. Aircon worked perfectly and kept us cool on hot and humid days. It's also mot very nice having paid premium price amd not able to drink anything other than tea and coffee. My partner doesn't drink any tea or coffee so he was only able to drink water the whole time we were there because we didn't want to pay extra. We wouldn't book this place again and would rather look into some different resorts in the area.

Most relaxing holiday whilst being supremely looked after by the best staff.

Th location away from busy towns made this perfect for relaxing. The staff went beyond expectations and provided amazing food as well as the best welcome and friendliness. The accommodation was extremely clean and provided all that we could wish for. All this was expertly managed by Gaia who kept a close eye on everything to ensure smooth running and exceptional holiday for us.

A very nice holiday with many experiences to remember.

The breakfast was made fresh every day with local ingredients – it was very nice. Anima Retreat Bali is in a quiet location in the heart of a local community. Staying here gives you the perfect opportunity to explore the whole island. We would recommend staying here if you are looking to unwind, recharge your batteries and have an amazing Bali experience.

A minor point, some hanging space for clothes in the bedroom would have been good.

The best place in Bali

Everything. The location was absolutely perfect - surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of the jungle, Anima is the perfect place to switch off, relax and reconnect with nature. The design of the property is fantastic with 5 beautiful buildings for visitors to stay and a fantastic communal dining space looking out onto one of two amazing swimming pools. The gardens are wonderfully vibrant and superbly kept filled with beautiful tropical plants and for on-site activities such as yoga, mediation and massage there are separate spaces which are tranquil and beautifully designed. But most of all there’s the wonderful hospitality from Sebastien and Rani and their amazing team of staff (and of course their delightful and dedicated team of dog helpers, especially Thor!). My partner Eve and I spent a perfect 8 days there and our only regret was not booking for longer.

There is nothing not to like. It’s absolutely wonderful.

Simply beautiful, an amazing time

Everything. I had such an amazing stay at Anima, I didn't want to leave. Hosts were very kind, it really didn't feel like a resort, it truly felt like I was staying with family and their friendly dogs. The accommodation was beautiful, clean and comfy. It was serene, quiet and provided a much needed time out to some of the more lively and busy areas of Bali. Sebastian's guidance was fantastic - I would recommend one of his workshops during your stay. I really understood a lot more about myself due to his readings and help. I also had a fantastic massage whilst I was there. It was great to meet and spend time with other travellers during my time there too. The food was great, true Indonesian cuisine. I would 100% recommend and I will be back again in the future for sure!

The place is extremely quiet, the nature around is beautiful, you can really feel the exotic side of Bali. The hosts were super nice, ready to give you suggestions and advice if you want to explore the surroundings. The food that they serve is 100% home made and traditional, which I personally loved. Overall the atmosphere of the retreat is great for a relaxing holiday.

A autêntica e verdadeira experiência Balinesa que queríamos ter 😄 É inexplicável a paz, a quietude, a calma, a tranquilidade... A beleza das pequenas coisas, a Natureza no seu melhor 😉 borboletas que nunca vimos (pretas, azuis...), pássaros lindos e alguns invulgares, chilreios diferentes e tão interessantes e bonitos, tudo tão bem arranjado e decorado, tudo com tanto gosto... Tanto o espaço interior das vilas, como todo o espaço exterior, todo o contexto em que está inserido, é absolutamente lindo: plantas, flores, árvores, arte feita de raízes, outros objetos, mobiliário típico balinês, lindo e confortável. O staff é gentil. A possibilidade de fazer massagem balinesa, yoga, etc. sem sair do resort é uma mais-valia, excelente. Todas as refeições incluídas, comida balinesa super fresca, acabada de fazer, sempre diferente, nada repetido... 7 dias no Paraíso, literalmente 😃 Bali vale por encontrar estes resorts e pelos templos e locais lindíssimos que a ilha tem. O resort Anima Retreat Bali tem um dogma: "Entras como convidado e sais como família". E é real. A Gaya é a Alma e o espírito do Resort. Nada invasiva, mas sempre disponível e atenta, super querida e amiga. Jamais esqueceremos o seu sorriso e riso francos, genuínos e especiais. Gaya é uma Pessoa que fica, que se guarda, como um tesouro precioso... Crava-se e enraíza-se na mente e no coração, permanece... é um Ser puro e cheio de luz... Fantastische ervaring in een heilzame omgeving.

De natuur is fantastisch op en rondom dit resort. Ver weg van alle toeristische attracties en drukte is dit resort een oase van rust. De bungalows zijn smaakvol ingericht en ruim van opzet. Gaia is een fantastische gastvrouw die de gasten echt in de watten legt. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en professioneel. Iedere dag zorgen ze ervoor dat je alles krijgt waar je om vraagt. Met twee gidsen hebben wij een gedeelte van Bali ontdekt. Ook zij hebben er alles aan gedaan om het ons naar de zin te maken. Bedankt Andy en Madeh! Kortom, wil je het echte Bali ontdekken en voelen, kies dan voor Anima Retreat Resort. Je zal geen spijt krijgen.

Ruhiger Wohlfühlort

Die Mitarbeiter waren super nett und das Essen war sehr frisch und lecker, auch der Pool war sehr schön. Das ganze Resort ist sehr geräumig und individuell gestaltet, nachdem ich eine allergische Reaktion hatte, haben uns die Mitarbeiter zum Arzt und zur Apotheke begleitet, alle waren sehr bemüht uns zu helfen.

Wir haben uns das all inclusive etwas anders vorgestellt, weder das Yoga, noch Snacks zwischendurch oder Getränke (außer Tee, Kaffee, Wasser) waren inklusive.

너무나 예쁘고 깨끗한 숙소와 친절한 직원, 맛있는 식사가 좋았어요

식사도 너무 잘 나오고 친절한 호의, 스탭들의 배려가 눈에 띄는 곳이다. 식사 시간이 너무 짧게 정해져 있긴 하지만 모든 끼니가 매번 정성스러웠다. 그리고 정말 깨끗하게 공간을 관리해서 좋았다. 특별하게 이동하지 않고 한 곳에서 머무르며 완전한 휴식을 하기 위해서는 이 곳을 추천할 만 하다. 다시 떠올려보면 정말 기억에 남을 만한 좋은 곳이기 때문에, 아래의 조건(아쉬운 점)을 자체적으로 보완할 수 있다면 머무르라고 강력하게 추천하고 싶다.

일단 이동이 어렵다. 도심에서 어떻게든 이곳을 올 수는 있지만 이 곳에서 grab 등을 통해 이동하는 것은 매우 어렵다.. 실제로 허탕을 꽤 쳤기 때문에 말하는 것으로, 스쿠터나 차량을 빌린 경우라면 좋긴 하겠지만 그렇지 않은 경우 쉽지 않다. 스쿠터를 여기서 빌릴 수는 있는데 이 곳을 완전히 떠날 때가 힘들다. 그리고 나는 명상이나 마사지, 요가 등이 원래 포함된 줄 알았는데 (발리의 다른 올인클루시브 호텔에서는 그렇게 제공했었기 때문에) 별도의 요금이 필요하여 이용하지는 않았다. 이런 아쉬운 점을 제외하면 너무나 멋진 곳이다.

Relax y mucho consentimiento

Nos encantó estar aquí, es un sitio para descansar y ser consentido, amamos los desayunos, los tratamientos que ofrecen, la piscina, la paz, las personas que trabajan aquí. Nosotros estuvimos muchos días por lo que la cabaña de madera sentí que no fue la mejor decisión, me hubiese gustado que nos guiaran antes de llegar y nos recomendaran otra cabaña por ser tantos días (no había espacio suficiente para guardar la ropa, es una cabaña oscura -no quiero dejar de mencionar lo mágica que es pero para tantos días la sentí un poco incómoda-); por otro lado si tu plan es conocer Bali es un sitio súper retirado entonces te recomendamos quedarte en algún otro lugar y aprovechar tus días en Anima para descansar, conocer personas increíbles (porque aquí todo el mundo come en la misma mesa, hay muchas personas locales que ofrecen sesiones, masajes, clases y son increíbles aunque para los precios de Bali son costosos aquí adentro). Tuvimos la suerte de contar con Gaia que es una mujer súper atenta y especial, nos asesoró siempre con cariño, alquilamos la scooter en Anima, de nuevo son precios más caros pero muchísima comodidad porque se encargan de todo. Utilizamos dos veces el servicio de lavandería y que divino, llegamos a casa con todo doblado y limpio espectacular En fin de verdad es un viaje que jamás olvidaremos, nos hicieron sentir sumamente especiales y disfruté muchísimo, lo recomiendo 100% considerando estos detalles que les comenté arriba 💛 Gracias por todo Om Swastiastu
