Green bear

We have stayed here before several times in past years. The experience & hotel is better every year I wonder what more positive things we can say next stay. The lady of the house Viennetta amazing and funny A credit to the business. See you soon 🙂

When we arrived the place was completely dark. We were the only guests and we weren't sure if the host was there. We went to the front to open the door we found it to be locked. Fortunately there was a WhatsApp number on the door and as were were reaching for our phones the host (who it turns out lives there) heard us and came and greeted us. From there the check in process was easy. As for the place itself. It's a lovely large wooden cabin located about a 5 minute drive outside of the historical town of Lítgatne and just up the road from the Gauja River Crossing. Our room was very cosy, but due to a miscommunication we did not have a kitchen. Fortunately our host was very accommodating and allowed us to use the kitchen in a room that did have one. This became handy later on when we also came to realise that our room didn't have hot water, so we also used this second room for showering. However even then, it's worth noting that the hot water struggled. It's not terrible, but good to keep in mind if you return from a long and potentially cold day of walking in the woods and are looking forward to a long hot shower. Overall our experience was a positive one, and I would consider going back. Our host was lovely and genuinely did her best to accommodate us through the few mishaps that we had.

The location. Also sauna was great!

Window was broken and impossible to close. Near the apartment there is a fireplace and smoke came in. Also some facilities were broken- f.ex. blinders for the window.
