the place is good and clean though it was bit hard to find and had a lot of furniture.overall pleasant experiance

Comfy, quiet and well priced

Had everything we needed. Property was warm, kitchen area well equipped for short stay, plenty of hot water, good towels and comfy bed. Ideal location for our stay and plenty of info about the property, where to eat ( pub grub less than 5 mins walk) and surrounding places of interest Hosts provided good info about how to contact them and ensured comfy stay Would be nice in summer too as has small enclosed garden with wide views across fields.

A lovely cosy over nighter

This was perfect for an over night stay , it was very near our appointment venue . Clean , cosy , and a comfy bed . Plenty of grocery stores , and a couple of pubs to have an evening meal .

Perfect night away

Although we didn't meet the couple, it felt like we did, with the welcome pack that gave you information for everything, was very thought out, and the email that includes the best route to take, they really did think of everything, and attention to detail, with cooking essentials, shoe mat, coat hooks, netflix added, books, we really had a chilled fantastic night. Waking up at 6.30 am to field and having a hot chocolate, it really was perfect

Because we were away for 2 days prior to our arrival and could not receive emails we did not get the message with the key code. we arrived at 4pm as arranged and could not enter the property as nobody was around to let us in and nobody answered the phone. we had to wait for 1\2 hour before Gordon arrived.

Send the keycode number a week before arrival for guests who do no have modern technology!

Relaxing, peaceful, great place to explore and recharge your batteries.

Amazing studio with everything you would need. Lovely extras like coffee, milk, tea for initial supplies and short stays. Excellent shower too! Easy walking distance, 4 minutes or less, to a pub with lovely staff and great food, after a hike in the nearby Upton heath.

Location of the Piggery for proximity to Poole and it was so peaceful, not overlooked and felt very private. The hosts were very well organised and the information folder was really helpful

DISGUSTING - UNFIT FOR HUMANS: AVOID

It’s in a nice spot. But that’s it. Otherwise this is a shocking place that Booking.com and others should not have on their system.

UPDATE: You'll see the response from the owners... it's noticeable that they a) never presented themselves to us when we arrived or during our stay, so we had no idea where they were or how to find them, and b) they didn't have the courtesy to respond to my direct email to them. That's telling - only interested in preserving their public profile. And NO refund offered.... DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE. The people who own it clearly don’t care about hygiene or your welfare - they just want to steal your money. This place is dirty, smelly, mouldy and in desperate need of urgent improvement. I would give it ZERO stars if that was possible - 1 is too high. On opening the door we were hit by a smell that is hard to describe - drains, damp, mould, bit of everything. And impossible to get rid of - why? Because beyond the patio doors, it’s impossible to ventilate. The worst smells were by the (unopenable) back door and in the bathroom - which has no ventilation fan (and is therefore illegal under building regulations). The second thing we noticed was the four flies happily buzzing around the room. The third was the inevitable build up of disgusting mould around the shower (see the pictures). Everything felt dirty, unloved…. When we returned at 10pm the smell was even worse and I seriously wanted to drive home - only the lateness of the hour and having had a beer prevented me. And only on the way home did we read back through the reviews…. Once you get past the (obviously fake) 9 out of 10, no comments left ones, you start to see an obvious pattern: people demanding refunds, saying it smells and is mouldy, saying the bathroom needs ventilating and refitting. That was from two and three years ago - and clearly nothing has been done since. Appalling - I’ve basically had £100 stolen from me. I will be complaining to Trading Standards and to Booking.com, in the hope of having these people’s ability to rent this disgusting place taken away.

Most enjoyable, quiet and peaceful.

Excellent facilities, everything that we needed to make breakfast,, tea, coffee and biscuits. The bathroom was lovely and warm due to the heated towel rail and the room warmed up quite quickly with the heater. The host was very welcoming when we arrived and we were late.

The bed was a little small but we are used to a 5ft bed. The walk across the field brought in some grass and got our shoes a little damp but manageable with a change of shoes.

September short break

Friendly helpful owners. Private and spacious accommodation for two people, quite comfortable. Well placed for exploring that part of Dorset.

Cooking facilities a bit limited. WiFi a bit sketchy. Could do with a path across grass to entrance . On the whole thought good value for money and would go again.

Hassle free and enjoyable overnight stay.

Problem free stay, easy directions, great parking, everything we needed for our overnighter. Close to ferry terminal. Good shower. Clever open plan, compact layout makes most of space and views onto open land. We enjoyed sitting outside to eat our fish n chips from just up the road.

Beautiful weather, surroundings and all round pleasant stay

This is the second time we have stayed here and I love the location and the setting. It’s beautiful surroundings and has everything you need for a pleasant stay.

I slept on the sofa bed this time and let my children have the bed and didn’t find that the sofa bed was so comfy to sleep on.

Was a lovely just off the beaten track. Secluded, nice get away. Would recommend very highly. Very good value for money and beats a hotel every day of the week. Get booking people

Home sweet home

Such a lovely location and all we needed in this little home from home. Easy check in on arrival and check out on departure . Comfy beds and lovely shower. Thanks to Jan for the cleanliness of The Piggery, and nice to have milk and biscuits on arrival.Thankyou for rebooting the wi fi after the storm yesterday. All in all a lovely 3 day break with the grandchildren. Go and book it, you'll love it.

I loved the setting and the location. The property had all you needed in regards to cooking and I do think they went the extra mile with what they provided their guests with.

As it was a studio the noise of the fridge did cause some issues during the night but I am a light sleeper. The wifi and tv service was an issue but whilst it wasn’t so much of an issue for us as a family so much as we were out and about a lot. But for future reference if this is something people are looking for it is an issue. The only other recommendations I would make were that for our experience unfortunately it did rain quite a bit and some sort or Gazebo over the patio/seating area. Or even some sort or lean-to over the property would provide some shelter from the rain if wanting to be outside.

Cosy and convenient as always

I've stayed here a few times before and it's perfect for me as my dad is in a care home within walking distance. Public transport is always an issue as I do not have a car but a bus drops off from Poole less than 10 min away so it works out really well for me. There are shops and places to get food within walking distance and The Piggery itself is cosy with lovely views.

Lovely little pad

Beautiful little pad. Nice and quiet

Being smoked out by the bbq, the owners were having outside the bedroom window. So we walked down the road to the pub and had a few drinks, and the girls danced until midnight. Which turned out into a lovely random night

Lovely stay, except for the few issues with accommodation

Hosts Gordon and Jan were lovely people, Very approachable and helpful and kept us informed by text with a few issues we had. Two packets of biscuits were left on arrival along with a a compliment card welcoming us to the Piggery which was a really lovely gesture.

TV kept cutting out. Bed was uncomfortable Smell of dampness. Cobwebs No windows for ventilation and no ventilation in bathroom. We didn't like to leave the doors open due to flies and a rat which ran along the front of the doors regularly but, we accepted that due to fact we were in the middle of fields. Barbecue wasn't very clean. Sitting area wasn't like it was in the photo. Slabs were covered in grass and grass wasn't cut. Lights outside on wall of piggery not working. Larger sign post for Entry of the Tricketts farm would be nice, not easy to find.
