Welcome to your Maui Retreat. Napili Point C40 is a spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo spread across 960 living square feet and it is nestled on a private corner of the community. The sparkling blue Pacific and the island of Molokai' all combine to deliver what can only be described as a show stopping backdrop. A large lanai is just adjacent to your living room, and will more than likely be the place where most of your time is spent. With a large table and accompanying chairs, this is the ideal spot to enjoy a Mai Tai while being embraced by the soft floral trade winds. Not What We ExpectedWe booked this condo based on strong recommendations from friends and the beautiful view shown in the photos. While the view truly is spectacular, there were several things that weren’t visible online that made the unit a poor fit for us.The condo is part of an older two-story building, and the exterior has multiple mismatched window A/C units and a stone stairway that feels very dated. When we arrived, the interior felt hot and stuffy. We turned on the A/C but when we returned hours later—and even the next morning—the unit still wasn’t cool. With the warm weather, working A/C was essential.The windows facing the ocean also appeared foggy or had condensation, which made the beautiful view less clear. The second bedroom opens directly onto the main floor, which wasn’t ideal for our family. In addition, the condo sits right on a busy road with only about 15 feet and some shrubs separating the front door from traffic. For our first trip to Hawaii in over 10 years, I wanted a place that felt special and safe, and the proximity to the street made me uncomfortable, especially at night.Inside, the kitchen was nicely updated, but some of the bathrooms definitely need refreshing.
