About this apartment rental

Honokeana Cove 209 is a 3-bedroom 2-bath top floor unit just a quarter mile south of Napili Bay's sandy public beach. This lush, tropical 38-unit property sits on a secluded cove with breathtaking views of passing whales (in season), dolphins and the island of Molokai. The cove offers some of the best snorkeling on Maui without the crowds. Countless encounters with sea turtles, coral formations and tropical fish are easily had at the cove. A heated swimming pool and oceanside grills are only steps from the unit. The acclaimed white sand beaches of Napili Bay (5 min walk) and Kapalua Bay (10 min walk) offer additional snorkel, paddle board and swimming opportunities. Great restaurants, coffee shops, snorkel/paddle board rentals and groceries are all within walking distance. World-class golfing at Kapalua is just minutes away.

Cove 209 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the first level and a private Mezzanine bedroom with bathroom upstairs. The unit’s corner location and abundant windows take advantage of Hawaiian trade winds for airflow. A lush old-growth Kamani tree off the lanai provides shade, privacy and comfort throughout the day. The unit is bright, airy and clutter-free with modern conveniences like USB outlets, touch faucet and smart ceiling fans.

Downstairs is a large room with king bed and a smaller room with two twin beds. The upstairs Mezzanine is open, yet private and has a king bed. All beds are Purple brand mattresses. Each bedroom has blackout curtains and reading lights. Bathrooms on both floors have walk-in showers and ample “elbow room”. Bath and pool towels are provided.

The open kitchen is equipped with KitchenAide appliances, sharp knives and OXO tools. Quality small appliances include a coffee maker, blender and electric griddle; making breakfast at home easy. Three gas grills are available for oceanside cooking while watching the sunset. The carefully curated kitchen should contain everything you need, and nothing you don’t.

Indoors is a 42” drop leaf dining table, chaise sofa and lounge chair surrounding a large coffee table perfect for board games or puzzles. A Samsung FrameTV displays artwork when not in use. The TV can connect to your streaming service subscriptions (don’t forget to bring your login info) as well as cable TV programming. The outdoor lanai has shaded dining for 8 plus a daybed for when you want to get lost in a book or an afternoon nap.

This was our third time staying at Honokeana Cove (different units each visit) so we knew exactly what to expect from the property and surrounding area. The unit came stocked with everything you could need for your stay including beach chairs, towels, and umbrella. The kitchen is well stocked, even with spices for cooking and plasticware to take down to the pool deck. My singular complaint is that there wasn’t foil to use at the ocean front grills and that’s something we could easily resolve ourselves. Despite the fact that this unit is tucked into the corner, there’s a fantastic ocean view and great airflow through all of the windows. This condo truly does not disappoint and the property itself is no exception!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was fabulous. The staff and management were great. The bed was comfortable, I was in the loft. The upstairs bathroom exhaust fan was of no use.
I found the living room and dining area lacking. The furniture is very uncomfortable, and the lighting was poor.
The kitchen was ok, but the microwave was very small. The oven looked great, but was dirty inside, there were no instructions.
