Casa della Contessa Art Guest House

The lavishly decorated room was very cozy. The house is located right in the midst of the action so it was easy to reach food or shopping and the sights. The staff were very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here!

The location. The Staff

As older people, we found it confusing to use the automated system. We are not accustomed to this new age method of doing things. We thought there would be a reception desk like in. Regular B & B. Our room, Angelica, was quiet, at least, but very small. It felt crowded, even with just our carry on luggage. The courtyard entrance to the building was grungy, there was no clear sign of where to go, the restaurant owner had no clue there was even a B & B in the apartment building and the taxi driver who dropped us off was not even sure if it was the right place, despite having the correct address, as there was no indication on the building that it housed an accommodation. This should be explained to the guest. The greasy smell of the food from the cafe on the ground floor, wafted up into our room, if we left our window open, which we normally like to do. Luckily another guest came along to help us enter the accommodation, via the code lock. We had tried it on our own, but must have missed something in the instructions, because it did not work. We did not realize that the B & B sent a video. We only discovered that later. It would been helpful to have a city map available, as we are not savvy with the phone. We did get a map from the tourist office, but it would have been nice to have one in the room, so we could get oriented right away. Not a big deal, but just a suggestion. Also, more hooks would have been helpful in the bathroom. Luckily, I bring my own over the door hooks and attach them to anything in the bathroom that is available. as well as over the door. It helps organize items better. Most hotels have at least one hook behind the bathroom door. That is standard for any accommodation. We appreciated the water and the air conditioning. The so called fridge was so tiny, maybe one foot tall, it could hardly be called a fridge. The staff was lovely and we enjoyed Turin, despite being disappointed in the accommodation.
