Noise coming from busy road

The hotel is family-owned and operated, and it shows in the attention to detail, quality, and service. The on-site restaurant exceeded our expectations, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped with excellent facilities and amenities.

The only disappointment was that the restaurant was closed on the second day of our stay without any prior notice. A simple sign at reception or a quick mention that morning would have been appreciated, as we returned looking forward to dining there and were disappointed to find it closed. The location in the dolomites mountain naturally means there could be many bugs. Since the room has many windows, adding insect screens would make a big difference, especially for guests who like to keep the windows open for fresh air.

The room was spacious and clean.

We were informed when checking in that the sauna was broken. The private sauna was the main reason we chose this accomodation and informed the owner we are extremely disappointed and that we want the money difference between a normal room and a spa room. She informed us that we have to settle it with Booking and gave us the option of having 1 day of spa to a local spa in the town. We decided not to go with that option and messaged booking in the next second after finalizing the checkin. The next day, the owner insisted we have a free lunch at the property for our inconvenience and big disappointment, but never mentioned that this would be a settlement for it in any way - we didn't even want it at first, but she really insisted and we thought she was just being nice and really regretted not repairing the sauna in time for our arrival. So basically we had a dinner of ~70 euros to compensate for a 200€ loss. In this time, Booking did not reply to our messages - which was totally unprofessional and a very bad customer experience Once we left the accomodation, we did give a reminder to booking and they said there is nothing they can do as the dinner was the settlement. We said we can give back the 70euro and be refunded with the 200euro, but of course the owner did not want that. Horrible customer experience - hope this property learn something from this...booking as well.
