Lovely stay in Amboise

Excellent location, charming gite, very well equipped, extremely clean, warm welcome from Phillipe who lives in the flat above with nice bottle of regional wine. The locality is fabulous.

As comments made by others, very high main bed via steep miller’s ladder and bedroom was a little claustrophobic due to sloping ceiling, a little dark in the gite due to few windows, no freezer in fridge although ice maker provided, parking on public car park although very close and free (Les Tanneur). Just to note also there is no outside area at the property e.g. garden / patio.

Superb

Location excellent and very well-equipped accommodation. Two minutes walk to the centre and a large free carpark very close. We would stay there again.

Not really a criticism but as others have written, the high bed is up a steep flight of steps. Being in our 60s and one of us having had a couple of knee operations, we opted for the very comfortable sofa bed

Short stay in the heart of Amboise

Not a problem for me but the master bed is in a mezzanine to be reached by very narrow steep wooden stairs which are really a ladder thus only suitable for people that have no mobility problems and do not need to descend during the night

Nice spot for a quick get-away from Paris hustle-bussel.

I decided to get away from Paris (before strict lockdown could be announced) - so booked to come to Amboise (last trip was more than 15 yrs ago) ..and given its proximity to Paris, I booked this gite at the last minute. I was very pleased with its location - end of a small street by a "canal" - but when I arrived in Jan. 21 - with the cloudy-rainy weather - difficult to appreciate its full potential. But I think in the summer it'd be an ideal place to stay. Also right next to the Chateau d'Amboise and all shopping centre + the Loire at walking distance....So it was a great get-away! Plus Claudine (the lady taking care of the gite) was most helpful and even drove me to the Gare when I was leaving - as local transport almost non-existant (due to pandemic and time of year) and for taxis you need to book in advance!)

the Wi-fi system.... you need to keep logging in as soon as you stop using internet! And the log-in info quite complicated and long. I found this quite cumbersome.

Huisje in Amboise vlakbij kastelen

Het is een authentiek huisje met mooie houten balken. Heel leuk. Voorzien van mooie badkamer en keuken. Het slaapgedeelte is wel een uitdaging omdat dit met een molenaarstrapje bereikbaar is, maar dat maakte het voor ons juist leuk. Het huisje is in het centrum. Vlakbij veel horeca en kastelen en tuinen. Goede restaurantjes en leuke terrasjes. Amboise is echt een leuk stadje. Zondagochtend markt is een aanrader.

Er was geen parkeerplaats bij het huisje. We moesten parkeren op een overvol parkeerterrein.

Emplacement idéal, tout se fait à pied. Des propriétaires disponibles et à l'écoute. Un logement original où vraiment vous apporter uniquement vos valises et rien d'autres
