I stayed in this cottage 20 years ago. It was such a fabulous cottage I couldn't believe when it came up as available. Not been away for 2 years I paid £4000 for 2 weeks in August. It is in a perfect location and many of the same features and positives remain. But It has been allowed to fall into disrepair. The garden is embarrassing, dead plants, no love, care or attention, especially when the gardens next door and at the B and B are fab. The window frames are rusty and inoperable for the main. Worry of all the mattresses are disgraceful , lumpy and very uncomfortable.Slats making from best frames. Key Items missing from kitchen like can opener, basement room is smelly, damp and frankly unusable, no fuel for fires so unusable, no instructions on how to operate the central heating, outside chairs dirty and one collapsed whilst we were there...I could go on. I wanted to contact the firm
when we were there, but frankly couldn't be bothered to spend time on my first holiday for 2 years been angry. The owner needs to stop looking at this as a cash cow and give this beautiful cottage the TLC it deserves.

Absolutely beautiful house, and in a fabulous spot.
Could be AMAZING if shown some TLC, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The outside front seating area was awful, people were walking down this nook frequently, and were all taking photographs as so pretty, but made sure they took their photo from the area beyond our front, the plants were either dying or already dead, the boxes over the wall were all weeds, all the property's around this one were beatifully maintained, as the weather was lovely we sat outside an awful lot and felt embarrassed when people walked past, it was dirty and unkempt, the metal bench was rusty, the outdoor light was hanging down off its bracket and cheap plastic table and chairs.
Internally the windows needed a good clean, so did the floors and the woodwork leading upstairs was full of dirty hand prints (on bannister rail), considering we are in a pandemic this was unprofessional to say the least, we all had to then make sure we didn't touch the bannister rail as didn't want to have to clean it myself, my 76 year old mum had assistance getting upstairs instead.
The fire alarm kept going off every time we cooked as placed in a position on the kitchen ceiling which wasn't practical.
Downstairs smelt musty and was a very dingy unwelcoming area, such a shame as leads out onto the front patio area and so could have been utilised allot more if givin some tlc.

Ideal location
Needs a little tlc. Bathroom desperately needs attention (grouting & silicone)
