Lovely cosy well equipped cottage. The hosts were very generous with jam, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc supplied, and also gave us lots of local information.

This property was perfect for our first little family get away. Beautiful quaint cottage in a beautiful book town.
The whole property had a lovely cozy feel.
The location of the property is perfect 40 mins drive from Windermere and only 20 mins to Kendal.
We throughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be staying again.

Great cottage. Everything we needed. Good location, close to centre of town but hidden away. Clean and well maintained.
Could of had a larger sauce pan to cook enough pasta for 4 people.

Very central with free car parking. Easy to find. Excellent receptive host. Very cosy house with everything that you need.
A little pricey. Pillows were too fast and too many cushions on the bed.

Loved the design, the location (near the local shops and restaurants) and the fact it’s a beautiful old building. Beds super comfy. Clean and well equipped bathroom. No problems parking on the road outside.
The property was not completely clean when we arrived, there were several dead woodlice on the floor in every room, a bad smell in the downstairs bedroom and the kitchen table had food marks on it. By the time I got in contact with the owner I had already started cleaning it. I’d had a 7 hour drive and arrived early evening. I was surprised as the reviews had said the property was spotless so this may have been an anomaly. The owner kindly offered a refund if we could find somewhere else to stay but it was a little last minute and I had already started cleaning it. She apologised and said she was two hours away therefore couldn’t come and help. There are sharp carpet tacks on the slope in the double room. Had to reset the boiler as had no hot water but this was easily done. Some pillows need replacing.

Loved the quirkiness of The Folly. Very arty. Lovely decor and very comfy beds. Bold and arty colour schemes. Very efficient shower. Loved the Sedbergh soap products in the kitchen and bathroom and the good quality tea, coffee and spices in the kitchen cupboard.
Nice quality crockery, utensils and glasses. Very handy for town.
We were lucky in getting a second car parking space on Back Lane but it would have been very inconvenient if one hadn't been available..
It was an extremely hot heatwave during our stay and the upstairs living area was too hot. We could have done with having an electric fan, but realise that under 'normal' conditions things would have been ok.
There is no private outside space which would have been nice, but there is a pretty garden area at the top of The Folly with benches and lovely flowers and lawn if people want to sit outside.

The accommodation was beautifully and thoughtfully presented and was well positioned in the village. It was nice and clean.
The dining recommendations were spot on and the whole stay was enjoyable. What I have suggested below are merely things that would have made it perfect, not critques.
A heads up about the builders could have been useful.
In some places I have been before, the hosts have left a few things in just to get us started e.g. Small milk, eggs, breads, biscuits. Understandably not an essential but a lovely touch to add for the future.
In addition to this, maybe a selection of games might be a nice touch for rainy days.

An amazing property in a great location right near the high street. The property has had a lot of love put into it to make it feel as homely as possible.
Nothing to dislike other than we couldn’t get the oven to work - but this wasn’t an issue as we ate out/ used the hob when needed.

Gorgeous old cottage, right in the muddle of the village. Nicely decorated and not too sparse like some places can be. Comprehensive instructions book with all the info you could need. Comfy beds. Well kitted out kitchen. Very clean.

The Folly was perfect. We arrived tired after hiking on the Dales Way for 4 days. We chose Sedbergh and Folly to stay for 2 nights to relax and recoup. The Folly is very comfortable. It is right in the middle of everything. It was clean, comfortable, and a cool little space. Everything was perfect. We especially enjoyed grabbing dinner at the Haddock Paddock next door.
Everything was excellent. There is a washer/dryer. We washed a load. I am not so sure about English dryers, but they do not seem to actually dry clothes - they mostly just jumble around some wet clothes for a while. I don't think this is any fault of Folly or the homeowners. I recommend not trying to do a load of laundry if it isn't sunny with plenty of time to hang out your laundry.

Fabulous facilities thoughtfully accommodated in such a small space. Everything you could need and more. Sedbergh is a unique town and this house is part of its history..
All access details and facilities were provided prior to our arrival.
We loved everything about this unique little cottage. We are frequent visitors to this area and will look for this accommodation for a return visit.

Such a quirky cottage right in the middle of Sedbergh close by to all local shops, pubs and some walking paths so we could enjoy dog walks. Owner was so helpful in giving plenty of information before our arrival. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped for our stay.
Only slight issue was it was a cooler house even in the hot weather and one of the bedrooms is opposite the front door so there was a draught anytime the bedroom door opened. We just layered our baby a little more of an evening to prevent any chills.

this is such a lovely place. I've stayed twice with my partner and both times have been amazing. Comfy beds, well stocked, decorated so nicely. Loved it! And the chippy nearby is the best chippy I've ever had haha. We drove from here to lake Windermere for a day out and it was a lovely drive. It was just a really really lovely stay.
Absolutely nothing.

Lovely quirky little property over 3 floors
Very well equipped kitchen and cosy lounge.
Comfy mattresses. Lovely shower.
Very central location, Sedberg is gorgeous.
Free parking available nearby.
Pillows uncomfortable. Either flat, hard or lumpy.
No enclosed garden or yard for dogs.
Extra charge of £25 if your dog stays which is
quite expensive. I’m fairly certain that our dog
staying did not create any extra cleaning
than had it just been us there. Whilst I
understand this may not be the case for all
dogs, maybe this charge should be refundable
if no extra cleaning is required.

Lovely village , good location for travel
Sadly I cannot give this property a good rating, it was not big enough for 5 people , the one bed was on the floor and very awkward to get into
Layout upside down with kitchen / living upstairs
Very cluttered inside, dark as some light bulbs not working, no handsoap provided in bathroom, only 1 toilet roll for 5 for two nights. I have previously been so spoilt in cottages I was not happy there was so little starter provisions, a little something in the fridge after a long day would really be appreciated.
Advertised as a pet friendly property, this is certainly not suitable for dogs, no space, carpet floors, they were not clean either under the rugs. Then I was told there was more to pay for dogs after I had booked it, would have gone elsewhere at that price, this should be included in the price on booking .com,
Could be good for a couple but definitely not good for a family
