As ‘cute as pie’, recently revamped in anticipation of your stay, the sleeps 6 (+3) Lo Squero comprises 3 entirely separate apartments* offering comfort, a top location and quiet elegance all the way.
Situated on a peaceful Dorsoduro calle leading to the narrow Rio de Toresele canal where once there stood a squero (boatyard) many, many moons ago, each charming Lo Squero apartment promises a perfect base in Venice for couples, solo travellers and groups of up to 9 when booked as a whole.
‘Hidden in plain sight’ just moments from Campo San Vio**, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the dazzling Zattere promenade, and boasting Wi-Fi connection and a washing machine in each, the fully air-conditioned apartments are spread over 3 floors of the property (one per level) and include:
Lo Squero 2 – 1st Floor
Accessed via a main entrance doorway on the calle shared with Lo Squero 3 just above, this tasteful apartment sleeps 2 (+1) and comprises:

A bright west-facing bedroom suite looking onto the courtyard below, smartly refurb’ed in ivories, cerulean blue and Farrow & Ball’s ‘Ringwold’ botanical wallpaper and furnished with a double sofa bed (housing 2 single mattresses)*** and an elegantly upholstered double bed with comfy topper (that can also be divided into singles at your request)
A newly remodelled dual-aspect kitchen/dining/sitting room complete with full oven, well-lit breakfast bar and a cherry red double sofa bed (housing 2 single mattresses)*** beneath gorgeous sage green walls hung with b&w images of Venice

OUR COMMENT
A Venetian casetta that’s sure to make you smile, just tucked away on Dorsoduro’s ‘Museum Mile’…
A short amble to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the iconic Church of the Salute, the Accademia Galleries and Bridge (and the VOV office!), the Palazzo Cini Gallery, plus the Punta Della Dogana Center of Contemporary Art, and close to a variety of fine eating places and bars including Ai Gondolieri and Ristorante Riviera for fine dining, and Corner Pub, Osteria Al Squero and Cantinone Gia Schiavi for cicheti and spritz.
An easy waterside stroll to 2 Conad supermarkets – one at the western end of the Zattere and a smaller one closer to home at Zattere Spirito Santo – and to 4 vaporetto (water bus) stops – Zattere Spirito Santo, Zattere, Salute and Accademia – for travel around the city (note that St. Mark’s Square can be reached by vaporetto from Salute in under 5 minutes on Line 1!)
Also close to the ‘traghetto’ at Calle Lanza/Calle del Traghetto S. Gregorio which, during operating hours, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to the district of San Marco, and within easy reach of the Alilaguna boat stop connecting the Zattere to Venice's Marco Polo Airport.
For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival.
Beds will be arranged as either doubles or twins as shown in the photos. The possibility of turning a double bed into twins or vice versa can be found in the description and must be requested at least 7 days before arrival.

Location, quietness, very convenient for amenities
The only criticism was one of the bedside lights did not work on arrival and throughout our stay. This was known by VOV before our arrival as they were waiting for an electrician with required parts to repair. Fortunately we were able to get over the lack of a bedside light not working by moving a standard light next to the bedside.

The accomodations and support service, from initial booking, to booking water taxis, to the welcome on arrival were excellent in all respects. We have been lucky enough to visit Venice several times and we always use, and recommend, Views on Venice.

The apartment is visually pleasing, well-equipped, very comfortable and the location is quiet while still being close to key boat stops. Our major issue was the communication process and check in. We had difficulties with coordinating with the staff person who was to let us into the apartment, a major issue with the apartment not being ready for us when we arrived, and then conflicting and clearly uncoordinated information among other staff about how we would be recompensed for these problems (that continued through the check-out process). In contrast, the property managers responded quickly and thoroughly to an infrastructure issue in the apartment. So the experience was mixed. A pity because the apartment has much to offer.
