Cheviot Way Cottage

Great central location in town and short drive to the coast etc; easy parking, well equiped kitchen, very comfortable furniture and beds; nice little private rear garden; hosts provided a 'welcome' bottle of wine plus cheese and biscuits; obviously a much-loved cottage.

Our stay was too short!

The cottage was fabulous through and through. Well situated in a friendly village and a great location to see the sights in Northumberland.

Nothing.

Excellent location with on road parking right by the front door. Felt safe and secure. Cosy lounge with log burner which had plenty of fuel had we needed it. Comfy sofa and chairs. DVD player very handy. Back door to small yard and then little garden beyond. Lovely views at back. Decent shower with plenty of towels. Dual rail on staircase. Very quiet rear bedroom with nice linens and comfortable bed. Provided with brie, red wine and crackers. Tea bags and salt and pepper. Electric cooker and microwave, fridge and freezer all very good. There was a line and ironing board with washing machine but we didn't use them. Good DVD and books range with some local guide leaflets. Couple of nice throws/knee rugs in lounge which were handy. Generally plenty of sockets and decent lights. Very clean and well presented. Modesty film on some windows saves people looking in. Two friends using a room each so our reflections relate to this and how we used the space and facilities.

Kitchen cutlery is a bit sparse. Cooking pots presume four people dining. No cooking oil which we felt was a staple. No kitchen towel so used a tea towel. No kitchen roll - wish we had brought with us! Back bedroom blind lets in light very early - extra curtains would really help given this is a holiday stay for most people. Back bedroom bed is very low. TV is good but you need your own codes for services - just to be transparent. Not an issue. Light in main bedroom not working. No lock on bathroom door.

Great location, cosy warm cottage, nice sun trap garden. Lovely welcome pack , much appreciated. Very comfy beds with good quality bedding. Easy parking.
