Little Haven Leura Cottage with Spa Bath and BBQ

The cottage was warm and cosy, clean and tidy and well suited for a two-night stay with a comfy bed and nice ambiance.

The fire was not cleared from the previous guest, there was no kindling, no fire lighters and no means of lighting the fire as the gas lighter was empty. In the kitchen both the salt and oil were empty, there was neither serviettes or paper towel, no cling wrap or containers to store food and the sachets of dishwasher powder were water damaged. The kitchen crockery, cutlery, glassware were serviceable but do not present well as they are a very mixed collection. The lack of a pair of scissors is a real omission. The vanity tap fitting has a slow leak that is not obvious immediately after cleaning but after a few hours water lies across the bench top and seeps into the cupboard below damaging some of the items stored in the cupboard.

Beautiful little cottage. Well appointed with everything I needed to self-cater. It had a lovely ambience.

Promotional information did not adequately describe potential access issues. The issues were:- Small, difficult parking space on street; Walkway to cottage was a series of long gravel steps; Internal steps in cottage from one room to another (including from bedroom to bathroom); No railings at steps; Shower over steep sided bath. These factors are a consideration for older people or those with mobility issues. Flat, uncomfortable pillows. Inadequate lighting at bathroom mirror. Dishwasher had a strong smell. Screen door fell off the first time we opened it.
