Raspberry Terrace of Leura

Great location- very central to everything we wanted to do and lots of room

Property was great. But just to let you know that the first couple days there were maggots appearing in kitchen around sink area - could not work out where they were coming from - not a probs as these thing happen just letting you know incase there is something dead in walls or so and also some animal dug up the lovely tulips one night and ate the bulbs - again just letting you know so you don’t think it’s us😊 other than that was great place to stay

Nice country feel, took us back to a bygone country era which we loved

Roomy, warm, quiet, good beds, good kitchen and bath

Musty smell when we arrived, lots of rules and regulations,

It was a very sweet home, with beautiful gardens. Good location as it is just a couple minutes drive to Leura mall. The beds were nice with electric blankets and linen was all fresh.

Unfortunately there were a couple challenges particularly on our first night. It was extremely cold and windy outside and despite our best efforts we couldn't get our rooms warm with the heaters. The draft coming in under the doors was so cold. Luckily this was remedied by the property manager so the second night was nice and toasty. The other challenge was that we arrived to a house full of flies. We killed at least 30 flies on the first night and in the morning we realized that there were maggots in the bathtub. The property manager responded quite quickly and a cleaner came the next day to address it, but we still kept finding maggots in the bathroom. It was quite distressing and I do feel that it wouldnt have happened if the house had been checked just before we arrived. They would have clearly seen the issue, but unfortunately the property was last cleaned about 4 days before we came so in that time this all must have happened. As the maggots kept appearing it felt like the issue was still unresolved while we were there and I worry that the next person might end up facing the same thing. I feel bad saying this as I could tell they tried hard to make it good for us, but I feel like the property needs a little closer attention. I honestly thought we might receive some kind of compensation as it made the short stay a little stressful and uncomfortable, but haven't yet heard back from the property manager about this.
