We had a comfortable stay overall, and the host was accommodating and easy to communicate with. The property isn’t flashy, but it suited our needs for a group trip. That said, it did look better in the photos than in person. There were a few maintenance and cleanliness issues that could be improved, such as some items not being thoroughly cleaned and a few areas of the house feeling a bit neglected. The price point is quite affordable, which helps balance this out, and it worked well for our group attending a nearby conference. While it met our needs for this trip, we would likely look at other options next time.

The house is huge! Well set out and suited our group with its large living spaces and equipped kitchen. We were all up there for Six Foot. And will definitely book again for future races. The host was also excellent with the communication as numbers kept on changing (runners!!). Location wise it’s about a km to the bottom of town. The downstairs bunk room was also quite good. There are no photos so we didn’t know what to expect. But it was fine.

Pros: Check in was easy, house was spacious and quiet with off street parking which we appreciated and a nice large, eat in kitchen. Blue rays and chess set were utilised by the kids so thank you. They also enjoyed the large yard. The central heating was also a nice suprise. Host was good at communicating and even followed us up when she thought we had left something behind which was kind. Cons: the house was pretty pricey, but the level of cleanliness could have been better - Main areas were ok, but places like windowsills and under furniture were pretty dusty (we even found a couple of old dirty socks under the beds when checking out) and some of the doona covers supplied were stained. The upstairs of the house was in fair condition, although dated and needing a bit of TLC, but I wouldn't recommend utilising the downstairs....the door to outside was held closed with a piece of wood jammed into the door frame and the bathroom looked very unpleasant (had a hole in the wall and we worried it may have been damaged fibre cement sheets so we kept the kids away...). Our extra adult dropped out the day before, but I would have felt bad if she had slept down there. Luckily, we only needed to use upstairs, which was comfortable.
