I had an amazing stay and I hope I will come back one day :)

My room had a fantastic view - I could sit on my bed and look at fjords. The bed was amazing, I was sleeping very well. The room and the bathroom were very clean. I was under impression that the building was pretty new. The place was quiet and at the same time conveniently located close to a shop and a beginning of a trail to a popular hike destination and not far from a little beach (at the end of the village).

All was perfect. Only 1 night/day there was a bit of noise because of kids running around but it's not something that the hosts could influence.

Great place to unwind on Senja

Self-check in was great. The room was a good size and very clean. The bathroom was clean and functional. Despite not having staff on site, it was easy to reserve and there was good communication.

Peaceful, well-kept basecamp with friendly staff, cozy rooms, and excellent shared facilities!

Absolutely loved my one-bedroom stay at BEDEHUSET Basecamp Senja. Staff was very accommodating, communicative and pleasant to talk to. I was given corner room No. 3 that looked out over the water, which made mornings with a cup of tea so relaxing. The room was on the smaller side, but very practical, clean and cozy, especially for a lone traveler. Showers were always warm with good water pressure, and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the shared kitchen space with the rest of the campers. Every guest (both campers and room guests) were extremely courteous and respectful during my 3-night stay. People were conscientious of removing their shoes at the door to avoid dirt from being trekked into the common spaces. The community kitchen had all the basic amenities, as well as a 4-top burner, oven, water kettle, coffee maker, fridge, and dishwasher. I was impressed with how clean the staff kept the property overall. They mopped and wiped down everything top-to-bottom every afternoon, making the facility very tidy and welcoming. Besides the occasional car that would drive by, the area is very quiet and peaceful. Would absolutely stay here again if given the opportunity!

The weather I had during my stay was on the warmer side, so while the down blankets were super comfortable, I would get quite hot while sleeping. If I was staying longer, I think I would have opted for a lighter comforter to temper the warm nights. But overall, I had an incredible stay and enjoyed it so much.

Do not recommend

Good location. The rented room has everything you need. Comfortable beds, a good shower.

The rooms are very small, and you just step over your backpacks to get to bed. There is a caravan and tent camp nearby. This leads to the fact that about fifty families sleeping on the street go to wash clothes, take a shower, charge their gadgets, wash dishes, cook and eat in a small house. There are only four tables in the kitchen, one stove and one refrigerator. Dozens of people use all this stuff. In the morning, you can stand in line for breakfast for an hour or more. The washing machine and dryer are booked for the entire night, which naturally makes it difficult to sleep. All of these people are there from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. As a result, the cost of this vacation is extremely high. It is necessary to inform the guests that an additional 50 families will be staying in the same house. The photos and information provided are misleading. I will not be returning to this hotel.

Exceptional

Clean and nice room for sleep and shower. Shared kitchen and camping services in the same building. Short walking distance to other village services. Recommended.

The only potential problem: be sure to have your EV battery fully loaded before driving to Senja Island. Fortunately, due to slow speed limits the consumption is also extremely low.

Big disappointment!

Only three things: Bed, hot water and view were nice.

Kitchen were dirty and there was not enough cutlery (8 forks) saucepans, fryingpans (only one) and no microwave. The whole building were closed at 12-14 and no acess to your room, which was odd. From drain came very thick bad smell and there was no other option for us than sleep windows open. Problem of the drain smell were messaged to the staff, but they were unwilling to help. You don’t find customerservice here and very expensive place to stay. Basic things are not working, not unfortunately recommending this place to anyone.

A nice basic accommodation in Senja

The property had all the necessities. We enjoyed the views from the window and we appreciated the shop being across the road.

The room was pretty moist and the bed was very soft.

I wanted to like my stay more. The amenities were excellent. Staff experience was poor.

The room was fabulous. It was quiet. The view was nice. The bathroom was new and clean.

Staff were absent. Had to contact them multiple times to figure out payment. Generally was confused by their absence. Check out times were different in multiple locations, some saying 11:00 and some saying 12:00. That was quite annoying.

Not cheap but decent value.

Very clean and well organized. Every room has its own water heater, so long showers next door won’t affect you. Very easy in and out.

Kitchen is clean and fully set up, like an apartment, but I suspect when there are campers sharing it, things can get crowded and noisy (no campers when we were there in early June). Bed was new but a bit too soft for our comfort.

To much crowd kitchen. All camping guests use it as a kitchen and as s guest room. Difficult to cook. No covered tables outside. No reception and you have to schedule by mail or phone (but not WhatsApp or other internet calls)

Comfortable short stay with excellent location

Great location, good kitchen area and possibility to wash clothes (washing machine and dryer), there was also area outside to hang clothes to dry.

There was no area/possibility for barbeque/grill even though this was mentioned in the description. It would be nice to have some sitting area facing the seaside. Kitchen should have toaster and microwave. Also more instructions could be added: 1. some people used dryer for sweaty clothes and then you didn’t have the dryer available for wet clothes from the washing machine, 2. simple instructions in the kitchen which towel is for hands and which for cleaning tables, 3. instruction not to lock the front door.

It was great. All four of us commented afterward how pleased we were with the bedehus.

It was perfect for us. I could see that some people who expect a lot of comfort might be unimpressed, but the location was so convenient and we couldn't have asked for anything better. The felleskjøkken was so great to have! We had great access to some beautiful nature. A wonderful hike to the top of Husfjellet was almost right out the door.

The only complaint might be that we weren't sure where we should park. But that wasn't a big deal. There seemed to be plenty of room.
