Affordable and clean

Very good value for money. We came as a group of 3 to Hamburg for the weekend, and the price for our own room was cheaper than staying in a large dorm room in other parts of the city. This is a monteurzimmer - so guests stay there for long periods of time. If you are looking for something on a price basis, and are not looking to meet people in a traditional 'hostel' or spend much time in your room, then I think this will be a real good fit. Impeccably clean - they do an extremely thorough job of keeping the common areas very clean at all times. The room was also very clean. Staff were friendly - the housekeeper's English was minimal, but the receptionist spoke English well. The room was spacious, had a TV that had Netflix, and a fridge. The beds were basic, but comfortable.

At first appearance the location does not appear the best - the hostel is on a busy highway and is a 10 minute walk along a main road to the s-bahn station. However, our room itself was extremely quiet and faced onto a garden on the other side. Other guests were often up and active extremely early in the morning (perhaps heading to work). Although the kitchen facilities were kept very clean by the staff, this was not the case with the other guests that were staying there. You have to pay a small fee for the bed sheets and towels on top of the booking costs. There are kitchen (and other facilities). However, in my experience, it was always very busy in the kitchen with larger groups. This was not an issue for us though, as we went out to eat. There is no atmosphere at all at the hostel - it is a nice place to sleep if you want something cheap that is within reach of an accessible s-bahn, but, as mentioned above, not the place to meet people. The bathroom facilities are not the best - they are clean, but the showers are not the best and they have an awkward lay out.

The bathrooms were kept very clean. The lockers were of a good size. It was walking distance to the S-bahn station.

Although it is said to be a hostel, the other guests of the establishment were not very friendly nor talkative. Those looking to socialize, may want to try a different location.

1- problems with the internet connection most of the time. 2- the water in the shower was cold most of the time. 3- when I arrived no one was there to do the check in and I had to call them and wait like an hour to do the check in. 4- they were waking me up in the morning to change my bed sheets (like come on it is nice to change the bed sheets) but you don't have to wake me up to do that!! At least respect my time. 5- they put me with a crazy guy in the room who was always talking to himself loudly and screaming in the room out of nowhere. 6- they didn't give me any key for the room to lock it. 7- the main door has a password to open it and no one told me about the password, and once I came back from work very late (03:00 am) and I found out that the door is locked and I had no idea how to open the door, so I had to call them and sent them e-mail and I had to wait like an hour and maybe more like until (04:30 am) until someone wake up and open the door for me

Cheap, cleen and mostly quiet place, despite some occasional drunk guy

One guy drunk 24/7, made a mess in my friend's room, full of empty cans everywhere and busting the door multiple times during the night to find coins to buy beers from the vending machine. He had to book a private room to catch some sleep. Also no common area to chill

Good for the price but bathroom is very inconvenient

The kitchen was quite equipped. The bed linen was fresh and the mattress comfy.

The bathroom. The shower is next to the toilet with only a curtain separation. But the most annoying is that both sink and shower are equipped with the water-saving. So you have to endlessly press the shower button for the water to flow. And the shower is attached to the ceiling and you can't control the water movement.

Nette Hostelgäste. Ihr seid unsere Rettung gewesen, danke!

Während unseres Aufenthalts kam es zu einem unschönen Vorfall: Wir – drei junge Frauen – konnten unser Zimmer trotz korrekter Codeeingabe nicht mehr betreten. Unsere Handys, Geldbörsen und Medikamente waren im Zimmer eingeschlossen. Die Situation ereignete sich mitten in der Nacht, zwischen 23:00 und 02:00 Uhr. Da wir gerade vom Duschen kamen, standen wir nur mit Handtüchern bekleidet im Flur. Das Hostel war zu dieser Zeit völlig ungesichert – die Eingangstür zur Straße stand offen, sodass jederzeit Fremde Zugang gehabt hätten. Der Betreiber war stundenlang nicht erreichbar. Auf Anraten der Polizei mussten wir schließlich einen Schlüsseldienst rufen und die Kosten in Höhe von über 400 € selbst tragen. Auch am nächsten Morgen zeigte der Betreiber keinerlei Einsicht oder Hilfsbereitschaft und sah sich noch nicht einmal genötigt, persönlich ins Hostel zu kommen, um den Vorfall mit uns zu klären. Ein großes Dankeschön aus tiefstem Herzen an die hilfsbereiten Hostelgäste, die uns ihre Handys liehen und uns mit einer Wasserflasche versorgten – ohne euch hätten wir die gesamte Nacht im Handtuch auf dem Flur verbringen müssen. Wir hatten uns eine sichere Unterkunft mit verlässlichem Ansprechpartner erhofft – leider wurde dieses Mindestmaß an Verantwortung nicht erfüllt. Wir können dieses Hostel aufgrund unserer Erfahrung nicht weiterempfehlen. Zusätzlich roch es unangenehm aus der Küche, der Kühlschrank im Zimmer hat laut gebrummt, die Toilette hatte einen riesigen Spalt unter der Tür mit Öffnung in den allgemeinen Flur und es waren keine Ansprechpersonen im Haus.
