A Cut Above Lodge - The Gateway to the Bay of Islands

The location was lovely - very peaceful. This is a lovely, comfortable and well appointed home. The heater was amazing after a very cold and long drive and an electric blanket was very welcome! Everything you could need was provided and the place was the most comfortable stay I have had in a long time. It is only a few minutes out of Kerikeri so very handy to shops.

There is nothing to improve on - it is amazing.

The home was clean, comfortable and well presented, with plenty of space for our stay. It was in a great location for exploring Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands. Check-in was easy, communication with the host was excellent, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8-night stay from 10–18 June. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and was exceptionally clean, spacious, and well equipped. Having the entire holiday home to ourselves provided a comfortable and relaxing experience. The three bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, and electric/gas fireplace made it feel like a home away from home. The location was peaceful and quiet, yet conveniently situated for exploring Northland. The host was also outstanding - always responding promptly to messages. When we experienced an issue with the television, they came over immediately to investigate and replaced the TV on the spot, ensuring the problem was resolved straight away. Their responsiveness and commitment to guest comfort were greatly appreciated. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend this property to others.

No suggestions for improvement as the accommodation met all our needs and provided an excellent base for our holiday. Overall, the property and host exceeded our expectations.

Great parking, great hosts and great entry / key process. The single beds and master room beds were great, while the other big bed was very soft (did not use it as a result). The kids games, TV, Internet, shower and kitchen features were fantastic. A lot of attention to detail about what has been put in and you can tell it's run by genuine people who really care.

The gas fireplace, while it heated the home, was extremely noisy (fan noise inside it). It should be removed and upgraded to a heatpump. While the property was mostly clean, the spiders and spiderwebs inside in the corners and above the doors and bugs in the bathroom were not nice. There was also a very strong odor from some freshener in the home which was quite overbearing. Worst of all for us was a lack of sleep due to neighbours having a loud party with terrible bass from 8-11:30pm. This spoilt our entire stay and while the rural outlook and location were great in other ways, that party was truly aweful.
