The vacation home (chalet): “Willerby Rio” offers all the comforts you could wish for on vacation. Through the large terrace windows in the living room, you have access to the terrace as well as a beautiful view of the valley. On sunny days, you can relax and barbecue on the terrace all day long. The wooded surroundings are ideal for hiking and mountain biking, offering plenty of nature and recreational opportunities. The landscape is distinctive in both summer and winter. Volcanic maars, such as the Schalkenmehrener Maar, the Wallender Born, and the Lavabombe, are just a few of the many attractions. A visit to Germany’s oldest city, Trier, is also always worth the trip. In short: a versatile vacation destination that has something to offer for every taste! Regular events: Every two years, Daun hosts the “Tatort Eifel” Crime Festival, which attracts renowned crime fiction authors from across the German-speaking world. The German Short Crime Story Award is also presented as part of this festival.
