There are plenty of better more well equipped friendlier places to stay in Saalbach - do not stay here!

Nothing special; very small and not exactly ski in location

Size of rooms, food terrible (breakfast), staff absolutely bare minimum expectations regarding checkout, reception (non existent) and pleasantries.

Hugely disappointing

The staff were friendly enough when they were actually around and the rooms were cleaned very well.

Breakfast was exceedingly sparse. The only eggs that were cooked were scrambled eggs and they were way too dry. Even the meat and cheese came out in dribbles and there were long periods when there was nothing. My single room was cold all the time with just 1 radiator in the bathroom The staff were largely absent with very little in the way of service The bar/restaurant allowed smoking and people were smoking cigars even. Never showed the sauna, never saw the sauna. The gentleman at checkin, as friendly as he was, gave us no information. We were told, at the end of our stay, that Panorama Alm, which is on the mountain , and a main area for dutch week, would have given us discounts if we told them where we stayed due to same owners. A little late. No tolerance for late checkout and 10am is too early. Also, you cant see on the map easily but you have to walk around 300 to 400 metres up a steep hill to get to it from Saalbach village or any of the ski-lifts For the price we paid, it was way overpriced and I've been coming to Austria twice a year for the past 20 years. No way is this 3*. Just no way.

A location with potentiall, but nobody has invested in it for a long time. This is because most probably it’s always sol

- ski-in and ski-out on a convenient chair lift - friendly staff - decent breakfast - 10 minutes walk to the center of Saalbach

- the room could use an update, the bed is old and the matress is soft and broken, you can hear the springs. There is only one small closet in the room, that is defintely not enough in the winter - no hairdryer in the bathroom - DIY eggs at breakfast, but only one pan, that is dirty most of the times when you want to use it - small TV, useless - there was smoking (by the manager himself) in the main restaurant area (smoking inside is banned in Austria for several years now) - the restaurant area is closed during the day, and you have no place to sit in the location except your room (if you have to work for example)

Size doesn't matter, does it?

This is a typical Austrian style bed and breakfast, lots of wood paneling, well heated and clean. The breakfast was typical basic Austrian with nothing fancy. The staff were always helpfull and friendly. Skiing back to the front door is possible if you could master the steepest Black run in the resort. Then you have earned your beer at the bar, which is plesant and casual.

The beginners lift and blue ski run shown on Google maps to be just across the road are no longer there. Our room was really small and had very little natural day light, the shower room was as small as it could get, the toilet had a great view but no curtain.

Perfect for Bikers

The hotel is located 100m from the ski lift, a beautiful view from the window of the mountains and gondolas, the owners are very positive and welcoming, the place is very quiet and comfortable, there is a sauna, a place for bikes or skis, in the evenings an open pub where you can drink something bubble

brilliant stay in a lovely Pension

Super location in Saalbach, only a 5 minute walk into the town. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and it was very clean. The breakfast was good too.

Bad

A nice enough traditional cottage.

Please do not book it. We were told to leave the room key when going skiing in the 'secured' key box. But it was possible for anyone to access the code list. We believed it was safe and trusted the place... SO SILLY. Who did it??? - at least €350 lifted from a purse, forgotten to be taken to the slope, one day. Yes, a safe was there, but no instructions or handy access. The money was left unintentionally. Bad luck, was it. The traveller was young and admitted only when checked in to another hotel in further journey. Additionally, some fonude dinners - Jaysus. Somead pickles included. Not European enough style to enjoy, plus so overpriced. Low level of cleaning of bathroom surfaces, floors. Left to run out of toilet paper as no top up for 4 days. No kettle in the room. Breakfast very basic. Often short of cups, glasses, water, you must boil/fry eggs if want any.

Mixed feelings

Ski room in the basement, free parking

Breakfast was very simple and scanty, e.g. guests have to make the eggs by themselves. Pictures on internet don't match the real condition. This is a only a relative/conditional ski-in and ski-out place. One has to walk 50 meters uphill from the hotel to start skiing. The staff was almost forcing us to order fondue, which was not worth it, because of the equipment was not right and also from the price-performance point of view. We ordered other dish instead which was severely overpriced. Namely, it was more than 40% more expensive than similar dish at ski slope restaurants (e.g. Panorama Hutte). There was no menu card at the restaurant with listed prices, at least we have not seen it, therefore, be careful to avoid possible inconvenience! Door sealing was bad (Room 1), therefore the noice from the dinig room easily entered the room, the staff was loud and was slamming the door early in the morning. They did not respect the fact that guest were actually resting...

Preis-Leistung halbwegs ok! Schihütten und Restaurantpreise allerdings sehr teuer!

Lage ist gut, direkt an der Piste. Allerdings muss man bei der Rückfahrt eine steile Piste runterfahren, sonst muss man zu Fuß gehen!

Im Badezimmer hat es nach Kanal gestunken. Sauna war kaputt, hat erst die letzten zwei Tage funktioniert! Eine Entschädigung haben wir nicht erhalten!

De locatie is top! Je staat echt met 5 minuten lopen naar de lift of het centrum. Ontbijt is simpel, maar prima. S’avonds kun je nog een gezellig drankje doen bij Wolfie de barman.

De matrassen zijn toe aan vervanging.

Dramatisch

Dramatisch , mijn auto werd geblokkeerd door een gast uit hotel en de eigenaar ondernam niets om het op te lossen . Ik heb zelf alle kamers moeten benaderen . Ik kon daardoor mijn zoon niet ophalen van vliegveld. Mijn verblijf volledig geruïneerd. Kamer : je kan nog geen kop thee zetten je moet àlles aanschaffen

Schlimm ...

Die Lage ist gut, und das Zimmer war sauber.

Beim Frühstück gibt es sehr wenig Auswahl. Auch kann man nicht davon ausgehen, dass Semmel, Brot, Wurst, Käse, Gemüse, ... gut verfügbar ist. Die Dame, die sich um das Frühstück kümmert, ist zwar sehr bemüht, aber allein einfach überlastet. In meinem Zimmer ist der Türrahmen der WC-Tür halb verrottet. Die Türklinke fällt immer wieder ab. Das zu reparieren ist jedem Heimwerker möglich. Leider ist der Vermieter aber überhaupt nicht daran interessiert. Die Parkplatzsituation ist schlecht bis sehr schlecht. Man kann nicht davon ausgehen, dass man einen, eigentlich mitgebuchten, Parkplatz erhält. Das hat dazu geführt, dass mein PKW und der einer anderen Urlauberin einen ganzen Tag zugeparkt war. Die Urlauberin war aus Niederlande und wollte nach Hause fahren. Sie konnte erst am späten Nachmittag abreisen. Ich habe erst um 12 Uhr Skifahren können. Den Vermieter haben wir nicht erreicht. Am Abend hat er zu der Situation dann nur gesagt, dass er nichts von unseren Problemen wusste. Nie wieder wird mich diese Pension sehen.

Sauberkeit des Frühstückgeschirrs Einmal war die Milch sauer, einmal war der O-Saft gegoren Die Betten haben bei jeder Bewegung geknarrt Am Anreisetag(Sonntags) war kein Toilettenpapier da.

Enzian bleibt uns in positiver Erinnerung.

Eine tolle Pension in einer klasse Lage. Das Zimmer war sauber, gemütlich und mit dem Balkon einfach klasse zum Entspannen mit Blick auf die Berge. Die Frühstücksfee war sehr freundlich, das Frühstück wurde mit viel Herzblut hergerichtet. Der Tag startete somit sehr angenehm. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder her. Vielen Dank.

Das Frühstück war gut und reichlich, Lage war top. Schön war das neben der Pension eine Seilbahn war. Zentrum war zu Fuss erreichbar und es gab viele Restaurants . Frühstücksperonal sehr freundlich ebenso der Hotelchef

sehr laute Musik und lautes Geschrei in der unteren Bierschenke in der Pension, ging bis in die Nacht hinein so das man nicht schlafen konnte
