This peaceful and cozy Pet friendly home with hot tub sits on an expansive lot with Private hiking trails for kids and adults to explore and enjoy. Relax in the front yard under the pergola or take a short walk to beautiful mercer lake where you can rent watercraft, swim and fish. Back home you will enjoy a well stocked kitchen w/ a large dining table to enjoy your family meals together, then retire to the cozy living room to watch TV or enjoy a warm wood burning fireplace. At bed time the master bedroom offers a comfy queen bed and the second bedroom a bunkbed w/ a twin and full bed.

Mercer Lake:

Lake access - The resort across the road is for resort guests however if you rent a pontoon boat for 150.00 you get all day access to the resort amenities including a swimming area, beach front, water trampoline,and hot tub. They also have other water toy rental options. If you bring your own boat ther is a public boat lauch just before the the resort, Take Mercer lake road just a couple hundred feet to Bayberry Ln., turn left then imediatly right onto Archer Ln., ramp is streight ahead.

Mercer is a good sized lake listed at 341acres on the north side of Florence. Great largemouth bass fishing, yellow perch, bullhead catfish, seasonally stocked rainbow trout and some sunfish as well..

With a boat, you can poke around the long Dowell and Dahlin arms and many small coves and points around the lake. There are standing and fallen trees around the shoreline, as well as a fair number of docks, that add to the potential cover for bass and panfish.

What’s nearby: 

This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean  beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road. The charming Old Town section of the city  is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants.  You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The  coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.   Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to  experience the unique natural wonders of this area.  Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are  offered daily.  Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road  where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force  the crabs out to the ocean.

Nice area away from town. You can’t swim or boat in the lake unless you rent a room or a boat from the neighbors down the road. That was a bummer. The hot tub was nice. We spent a lot of time soaking. We noticed bats flying out of the attic during the night so there’s that.

Wow! Absolutely loved the cabin-esque home. The property was nestled next to a pretty cool state park, with beautiful Oregon trees all around. Great hot tub experience and absolutely family friendly home! Would love to come back here again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our vacation to Oregon and it was a very pleasant experience. When we arrived, the lights were on for us, along with a fire "burning" on the TV which provided a warm welcome. It was very clean and had plenty of towels, soaps, and kitchen utensils to use. The hot tub was an added bonus. Very private and quiet location right off highway 101. We enjoyed our stay!

Everything was neat and clean. Very comfortable setting. The location was excellent - close to everything we wanted to see. We enjoyed the hot tub. It was hot and clean. A couple of negatives- the garage area was dank and smelled moldy. Possibly put a dehumidifier in. The yard in the back was very rough with a collapsing wall. Looks like it needs a lot of work. A nice grill would have been great. We needed to replace one of the smoke detector batteries. Possibly store a few in the drawer.

We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful home. As we walked in there was beautiful music playing, and the house was immaculate. There was plenty of dishes, towels, multiple necessity needs were provided. We also loved having a washer and dryer. Being close to Mercer lake was wonderful and it is only a few minutes to the ocean.

We had a great time in this house. It had everything we needed to explore the local area and we loved coming in from a day out to soak in the hot tub. The bedrooms having blackout blinds was a bonus for our children and these light summer evenings. We also loved that we could access Mercer Lake via a five minute walk down the road.

I’m sure there’s not enough space to describe my overall disappointment from the online pictures to what we actually got when we pulled up. This was a 25 year anniversary for my husband and I. The outside of the house was filthy with spider webs everywhere, dirty windows and the supposed outside sitting area did not exist. We then opened the door and were hit in the face with the worst mildew smell. I immediately opened what windows I could which was only the kitchen and bathroom since there were so many spiders etc on the house that I wasn’t going to let them in. We then pulled back the bedding in the main bedroom to find brown stains on the sheets. I pulled these off, searched the linen closet for more and found a cleaner mismatched set. We changed the sheets, found there was very limited amenities for ten days and made a list for the next day to shop. The next day I bought extra soaps, cleaners, TP, batteries for remote controls, candles and air fresheners. Also, we examined the towels and found these were stained and needed immediate washing. The price per night that I was charged was way over the top for what we got. We made a phone call to the property management and expressed our disappointment and requested a refund on the cleaning and supplies. He said he would call us back and never did. By the time we left, the smell in the home was bearable only because of the daily cleaning and fresh air. We definitely left this property better than when we arrived.

We stayed at 3 Sands Cottage for just 2 nights but I wish I would have booked for more! I loved the outside space and as a bird watcher who lives in town, I appreciated the quiet woodsy outside that gave many different bird species room to forage and fly from tree to tree. And the mornings were filled with bird song! My favorite. I booked this cottage specifically for that reason as a lot of rentals are beautiful but do not have outdoor space that will attract birds and wildlife. The house had everything we needed. We used the hot tub and it was wonderful after a very long and tiring walk from Heceta lighthouse down to Hobbit beach! Long and wonderful! I would definitely come back again.

Beds were comfortable and made for a great nights sleep after a busy day of adventures. The hobbit trail and beach were among the best places to see! This was an amazing Family adventure on the coast of Oregon, where the Forest meets the Sea..... This house is so cute and cozy, perfect for our small family. It also was dog friendly so we got to bring the pooch. The house is small yet elegant and was very clean. It is right by a lake and we put in our paddle board one day to have some fun in the lake. The ocean is right by us as well along with sand dunes for tons of fun on the coast. The beds where comfy and soft pillows. The only downer was the bathroom did not have a fan, and we all had to share the same bathroom...maybe some mirrors would be good in the master bedroom for me, (mom) to get ready so I don't take over the bathroom. Our family loved bringing the dog and exploring, everything around us was very dog friendly and the kiddo had so much fun in the ocean and also coming back to the house to warm up in the hot tub. We all loved the hot tub, perfect for us to warm up after the chili coastal water. If your looking for a peaceful quiet spot in the forest next to a lake, a short drive to sand dunes and the coast, with a hot tub to boot, this is the place for you! Don't forget to bring the dogs.

This property was perfect for our weekend getaway to Florence. The home was inviting and clean and in the perfect location to go to the dunes, lakes and the beach all in one weekend. The only issue we had was the hot tub would not heat up even after 36 hours. It was a bit disappointing since this was one of the reasons we choose the property. Overall though it was a 5 star vacation rental.

The hot tub did not work fornthe duration of my visit and the manager said the previois renter had the same issue. I appreciate that these things happen but two consecutive renters means it was not addressed or fixed properly for either. They gave me a 150 refund for the disappointment but I really wish I had enjoyed hot tub time instead.

The house was super clean and well stocked for all cooking needs, as in pots, pans, dishes etc. Loved the hiking trails and so did our two dogs. My one big complaint as to why I titled the description on a bit misleading is that although the house was a 1/4 of a mile from Mercer Lake, we didn't find out that it is a private lake until we got there and the only access is through the resort which you had to rent a boat of some sort to fish or swim. The description does state that, but just as a note, it could be worded a bit better to explain what the meaning of lake access. Public access was if you had your own boat, which we did not. The hot tub was also not working, so we were bummed about that as well, but the property manager was nice enough to comp us some of our money back. Luckily, the house is located near a lot of other lakes and we were able to take our dogs swimming and even got in some fishing. I would rent the house again whenever we head to Florence.

Very clean and nice little cottage. Perfect for our family! Great location.. The mercer lake resort is right across the street within walking distance, we rented a boat for the day which gave us access to the swimming area. And you are only about 5mins away from the city and the beach!

This little house was perfect for our family of four and dog. We didn’t spend too much time at the house but it is close to beaches and hiking. The trails behind the house were perfect exploration places for our kids too. The inside of the house was clean and had everything we needed. There isn’t really a backyard at all, the front yard isn’t fenced, but the trails made up for that and was great for us. Thank you!!
