Excellent accomodation in the heart of Windermere, cosy and great for families travelling by car!

The location was excellent and close to centre of the town to buy groceries if self catering or eat out. It is also close to Bowness and you can walk should you want to (max 30 min) or by car (5min) where you can enjoy the lake,catch a ferry and a steam train should you want to. The facility has parking (own private parking at the back) which is a super plus plus if travelling by car! The property it self is well catered for families and kids could watch TV in their own room! We enjoyed our stay a lot and would return again should we ever be in the UK again in the future.

The building outside needs a bit of updating but it's functional, also the kitchen equipment like pots and pans need some replacement as it is a bit " used" already same with the stove. It wouldn't be an issue if not self catering but we did however wanted a home cooked meal one of the evenings we stayed there and this could have been a bit better. Other than that it was perfect for us.

Great stay and would reccomend

Loved the hot tub and garden area. Bedrooms were lovely too! Excellent location - few minute walk from town with lovely bars and restaurants

The only thing I’d say is - the garden is open with no fence, so for my dog we couldn’t let him out because he would run off but apart from that no complaints.

Lovely accommodation in the centre of Windermere.

Ease of check in, great communication from host. Excellent location within walking distance from Windermere. Hottub was a great treat after hours of walking

Although the garden is secluded it is totally open at the back. Also the beautiful boutique furniture not practical for a ‘loungy’ night around the fire and tv. Only minor critiques though, we lived the house.

Great family break including our dog, it had everything we needed and the location was perfect.

We had a wonderful stay at Ellerthwaite Place, immaculately clean, comfortable beds and had everything we needed, hot tub is a great bonus. The location of the property was perfect, close to all amenities, great cafes and restaurants ('Homeground coffee and kitchen' and 'Brown sugar' are highly recommended) and everywhere was very dog friendly. Windermere was a pleasant 20 minute walk away, very busy during the day, but in the evening it was lovely and quiet and Baha Bar had a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Not having an enclosed garden for our dog was the only down fall.

This place is really nicely designed with lovely interior decor. Everything was extremely clean and we had everything we needed. hot tub is a great addition! Location is great as you are walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Windermere. Parking space at the back of the property is also super convenient as road parking is limited. Instructions on checking in/using the hot tub etc were communicated and clear.

Just a thought but some sort of welcome hamper for the price would be nice, as I have experienced this with other properties on booking.com. Charging £20 to check out an hour later is quite honestly ridiculous considering how much people are paying to stay here already. would be nice to know what that £20 is actually covering!? As others have mentioned 4pm check in and 10am check out times are awkward and should be adjusted.

Great value for money, great location, had a very relaxing few days away.

House was spotlessly clean with the bed linen and towels really high quality. Beds super comfy. Great comms from rental company. Provided with tea, coffee, sugar and kitchen cleaning products really saved having to buy when only staying for a couple of days. Good size parking space right behind the house. Nice little patio and good area around hot tub. Great location for Windermere about 5-10 min walk, Bowness is a good 20 min walk down a gentle hill, there is a bus stop 5 mins away if you don't feel like walking.

Great location but will not be returning to this cottage

Very clean and new. Nice decor. Great location.

No storage space for clothing…….luckily only stayed 2 nights but lived out of the case. No kerb appeal……very untidy front garden and no outdoor lighting at the front so very dark coming in at night. No privacy for the hot tub which was the reason for booking and therefore never used it. Seating in the living room only for 3 people in a house sleeping 4. Seems like a very rushed refurb with very little planning. Very basic facilities and amenities. I could go on and on. Had it been less expensive I wouldn’t be too disappointed, but I booked this as a surprise for my mum and her 2 cousins and they came home disappointed. So when I’ve paid nearly £600 for 2 nights for them I wish I’d booked somewhere else.

Perfect location - just a few mins walk from the centre of Windermere where there are loads of pubs, restaurants and amenities, and some fantastic walks on doorstep. The house itself was immaculate inside, modern, and furnished with everything we could need. The hot tub was brilliant too. Genuinely can not fault the property, would highly recommend and will most certainly stay again.

Trims hanging off hot tub. No welcome pack left. No essentials left which for the money is an absolute rip off. Tv’s not connected and no arials. Communication with owner. Woken up at 3am by milk factory at back of property. Check in time isnt ideal for price. Cleaning fee is ridiculous. No toiletries!! Will not return.

Really nice house in a great location. Just short of perfect

Lovely location, we could walk everywhere we wanted and the weather was fortunately great for the whole weekend. Our host also provided a number of good ideas for activities during our stay which we really appreciated. The hot tub was great, and the property in itself was immaculately kept.

Check in was quite late and the host was adamant it could not be earlier, however when we arrived we could not enter the property and had to phone the emergency number. We also made use of the late check out and paid into the honesty box but hadn't seen any reference to a time so felt quite relaxed about it. Carpet fitters turned up whilst I was in the shower and then the cleaner as we were unloading asking why we hadn't left yet so that was quite an uncomfortable experience. As someone mentioned previously, the hot tub wasn't very private. Two neighbours windows directly overlook it.

Perfect Getaway

Stayed here for a weekend for partners birthday. Both absolutely loved the place small walk into the centre everything you need close by. Would definitely recommend wish we could of stayed longer.
