Gaia Residence

We spent Xmas and New Year's Eve at Gaia Residence. The house itself is nice with a fire place, a cute backyard with trees and a spacious terrace in front. Overall comfortable but a little outdated. It's on the main road that leads to Old Hersonissos (200 mt away), but the bedrooms face the garden, so no noise at all. The owner was very accommodating, provided continously wood for the fireplace and his wife had prepared a cake and some sweets, and we found Raki and a bottle of wine on the table. Very special mention goes to the property manager Manolis, who was always on top of any situation (i.e. he managed very well a critical situation with the heating - very needed in this period). He was also very fast to respond to all of our questions on short notice and has been always available in case we needed him. Overall we highly recommend Gaia Residence, however renting here in winter time is definitely a different experience than during a warmer season when you can make use of the garden and the terrace. The fireplace is very nice but can be used only when there's no wind (we could use it only 50% of the time). For three bedrooms there is only one bathroom with one shower and there is an extra toilette with a small sink, but no 2nd bathroom. TV is not a smart TV, and there isn't any cable channel. We brought Firestick and could watch at least Netflix and Youtube. Internet is sometimes intermittent and is not available in one of the bedrooms (due to the thick walls). It is also worth to mention that Hersonissos has cats everywhere (we brought our dog, a dachshund, and he was on the hunt all day). It did not bother us but might bother people with allergie.
