Kahlua Bay Apartments

The apartment is in a fantastic location, right by the sea, with a beautiful sea view. Everything is close by, especially the beach. I really appreciated the possibility of a very early check-in, this is something that happens very rarely and was a huge plus for us! Communication with the host was also excellent, very smooth and easy. The apartment itself is very spacious, which we really appreciated. Having two separate bedrooms, each with a door that can be closed, gave us plenty of privacy and comfort. Having two bathrooms was also a big advantage, especially when staying with several people. The terrace is fantastic, the beds are very comfortable, and the lady from the cleaning staff was extremely kind and helpful. Despite these few issues, we had a very positive stay overall. The amazing location, sea view, spacious apartment, two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, great terrace, comfortable beds, excellent communication, and especially the possibility of such an early check-in definitely make this place worth recommending.

There are, however, two things that could be improved. First, we had an issue with ants coming out of the kitchen sink. I’m not sure whether this was specific to our apartment or simply something common in Crete, but the ants appeared anywhere there was even the slightest trace of food. We kept everything tightly closed in the fridge and made sure not to leave even a single crumb on the counter, but unfortunately the problem was still there. The second issue is the bathrooms. Although having two bathrooms is definitely a big plus, they are quite small and designed in a way that makes them difficult to use comfortably. Water splashes everywhere when showering, and unfortunately it seems that the constant moisture has already caused quite a bit of wear to some of the furniture and fittings. There is also visible buildup on some of the taps.

I liked the location of the hotel - very close to everything you need and especially to the sea. . It was nice to sit on the balcony in the evening, enjoying the sea breeze and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Nearby were restaurants and taverns, supermarkets, which had everything you needed. The air conditioning worked perfectly. Cute cats visited us.

The only downside was that the panoramic doors to the balcony didn't close well, so you had to make an effort to close them.

The only thing I could say is that we didn’t see the full length mirror, which is on the inside of the wardrobe door until the day we were leaving, but otherwise can’t find fault.

Very clean and modern. Loved the attention to detail. All staff were very polite and professional. Great location!
