The Loft

No teatowels or binbags which would be handy .

The location is great, quiet, rural but close to a main road and pub. There is a lovely view of the farmyard overlooking the chicken coop and the countryside. The apartment itself is a good space, large rooms and good open plan kitchen, dining and seating area.

The evening we arrived there was no heat on and the bed in the first bedroom was not dressed for this so we were cold in bed. The bed is also very hard we softened it the second night with a duvet from the other room. The heat was turned on on request the next day and the apartment was then well heated. One of the bedside lights was not working. The water is supplied by a water pump and it is very noisy as is the tank refilling after using a lot of water, the hot water is by instant immersion and the water pressure is fine for the first minute or so but then reduces to a dribble and not sufficient to run a bath without it taking ages. Furnishings while adequate are well used and tired. There is a TV and a few stations but the reception is bad and makes viewing difficult. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped with fridge and freezer but there was only 1 saucepan and that was the bottom section of a steamer. A small sharp knife would be a good addition, I had to cut tomatoes with the bread knife. The apartment was clean but there were few dead slaters behind the door in one bedroom and there were a few live critters, not overly surprising given it;'s a rural property. There was also out of date milk left in the fridge. This property has the potential to be exceptional but it needs a little more care and attention and the water issue resolved.
