Villa Matahari

The staff were amazing and very accommodating. The villa itself is all open which is so beautiful but it gets a little tricky when it's raining as you need to walk in the rain the get to the kitchen/lounge dining area. The bedrooms were absolutely immaculate, clean, fresh and designed well. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Kids loved the pool and the geckos... thankyou 😊

We didn't like how there are no doors to connect through to the bedrooms. Especially when its raining, to go outside to get to another room, especially if the kids want you through the night it get tricky.

Simply a beautiful property. The mix of indoor outdoor living was lovely. The pool size was great for social swimming and the decor was beautiful. Only downside was that the rooms had a damp smell - could be due to the indoor / outdoor piece.

Don’t be fooled by it’s beauty. Don’t come here. Many other options in Ubud

It looks very beautiful & staff tried to help with all problems arisen

Looks beautiful but turns into horror house at 6pm. Booked Villa for 2 weeks had to leave after 4 days. Mice, gechos, giant gechos in kitchen, slugs, infinite ammount of flying bugs, ants everywhere, spiders in shower, everything. We chose an open concept and we are in Ubud so we expected a degree of wildlife with us of course but many villas like this in ubud and owners take care to do some kind of pest control. Even basic light outside so that attracts the flying bugs from the rice fields not everything comes straight inside to your space, you cannot even cook. Also while we where there the outside lock broke slowly over 3 days. I don’t know if it just happened to break but I think someone was meddling with it from the outside. Did not feel safe at all.

Met expectations but there were significant negatives

Positives: - beautiful space with ample common area for hanging out. The rooms are spacious too. Wifi is good

Negatives: - shower pressure is low and lukewarm water - there's no indoor common area, which is a pain because it gets buggy at night. There's no fan at the main seating area to keep the bugs away - location isnt great. You need to get out of the car and travel by foot for the last 200 feet. Cars also need to go down a muddy road to pick up and drop off, which is tough in the rain - the key for the front door was finicky, and the front gate was broken - unfortunately, the host communication in English via WhatsApp wasn't great

Beautiful stay - but a bit far from main attractions.

The house is beautiful, the pool is huge, and the villa is very private with view over the rice fields. The house itself is actually built in the middle of the rice fields. One of the lady working there Ari, was amazingly helpful and kind to both us and our children.

You have to walk with your bags to get to the villa as it is not accessible by road so the taxi drops you off with your bag on the closest road and then you keep going by foot. This is very hard to get a taxi from the place despite was we were told and the "manager" does not often answer his phone when we needed help (Thanks Ari for helping us!). You are about 30min away from the Monkey forest and 20/25 to Ubud city center. One thing we didn't like is that despite the house being advertised as a 3 bedrooms house - you actually have to pay extra to use the 3rd bedroom, and a 250$ deposit is asked by the manager on site. One recommandation more than a down side to our stay would be to add a concrete path between kitchen/living and the bedrooms because having to cross on the wet grass made the bedrooms quite dirty.

The quietness of the surrounding area. Large space to hang out with family, and the location is still within food delivery service area so can't complain about getting food. Loved waking up to see ducks having breakfast just outside the villa. The garden was nicely maintained. Good size pool for doing laps. Kitchen was equipped with enough for us to make ourselves some breakfast or heating up other foods. Pak Gede was very helpful in when we asked him to get us some fruits and mosquito sprays. The Villa itself is very nicely decorated and clean.

The pool water was cloudy, could not see much while swimming. The toiletsa and showers in the rooms don't have doors except the one next to the kitchen :) Friends travelling together may find this inconvenient.

Хорошая вилла, отличный персонал, очень просторно во дворе, несколько мест для отдыха.

Не понятен формат деления жилой площади - одна комната занимает примерно 2/3 всего строения, имеет огромную ванну, места для хранения, в свою очередь другие комнаты ограничены спальным местом, душем и туалетом, нет мест для хранения вещей за исключение открытого маленького «шкафа». Так же не понравилось, что нет дверей в душ и туалет, поэтому часто пользовались туалетом около кухни (там есть дверь хотя бы). В душе не работал тропическая лейка, но персонал решил эту проблему уже на следующий день пребывания.

Prachtige villa, midden in de natuur! Main bedroom was geweldig, met bad voor het raam. Zwembad prachtig!! Midden in het rijstveld, maar weinig last van muggen gehad…

En apparence cette villa est très jolie mais c’est tout ! Le personnel est très agréable

La piscine sale et inutilisable, les chambres non ventilées et avec de l’humidité et de la moisissure sur les murs, odeur d humidité, condensation sur les vitres, très mal sain , l’accès uniquement à pieds ou en 2 roues sur chemin entre 2 rizières , sans lumière fin du chemin en béton entre des constructions en cours une minie décharge …. 1 serpent dès les 15 premières minutes de notre arrivée dans le jardin, 2 rats qui passent devant la fenêtre de la chambre et rentrent dans la trappe de la piscine sur la terrasse … alors oui c’est la campagne mais il y a des limites ! Remboursement partiel demandé au propriétaire, et 10% de remboursement obtenu . Il y a beaucoup ailleurs
