Comfy, clean, pleasantly decorated and the outside terrace was a bonus. Good location for the old town.

The trip ended up costing us 25% extra! We booked this (slightly more expensive than others we were considering) apartment specifically because it had a parking space outside for our hire car (parking in Chania old town is a nightmare). Less than 48 hours notice before our arrival time we were told the parking space wasn't available. With no parking available, we tried to postpone our car hire but it was too late to change the agreed fee so we wasted 90 euros (3 days of our hire car fee), plus had to get a taxi for 25e from airport. We asked the owners to split the loss with us but they would only offer a refund of 24 euros (equivalent to 3 x days in a municipal car park). We did not want to risk leaving our hire car in a public car park away from the apartment, which is why he had booked Blue Jasmine in the first place. So despite the 24 euro refund, overall our trip cost us an additional 91 euros. We thought our offer of going halves on the extra cost was very reasonable (we weren't even asking them to cover all the loss!) so this was really disappointing customer service. It added a layer of stress to the trip too, having to conduct ongoing negotiations with the owner via their agent.
