The cottage is lovely, the location is beautiful and the host is kind and friendly.
I had no problem with the stay.

The cleanliness of the house and having a washing machine

The cottage was cute. Very old and plenty of character, space is limited and as such there are not the mod-cons that you might see in a newer property, but if you understand this you’ll not be disappointed. The locale is very nice and the two closest pubs were very nice. We used the cottage as a base to explore the Cotswolds and were blessed with glorious weather, so we didn’t actually spend lots of time at the cottage.
There were pet hairs on the sofa which my partner did not like. The only other potential negative was the stairs. As I mentioned it is a very old property and interior staircases are steep and narrow, so some people might find them difficult to navigate. For us this was a minor inconvenience rather than a major issue.

Woodlice, grumbling neighbours, far too steep steps, steep road,

• Good views
• Has a washing machine and a clothes airer is provided
• Comfy bed
• Good heating
• Milk in fridge, and tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits provided
• Horse brasses and plates on wall are nice touches.
• Kitchen is well equipped.
• Big woodlice issue
• Lots of fixable issues
o Needs an additional banister rail in the bedroom
o Cottage is very tired and has numerous “quick fix” issues. E.g. the bathroom window won’t close, one of the kitchen window catches is broken, it desperately needs a lick of paint, the climbing plant reaches the first floor and blocks light, the bathroom door handle isn’t right and was difficult to open.
o Needs a good clean. Very dusty surfaces, clearly not hoovered behind furniture, kitchen cupboard where pans are needs cleaning.
o There is no information pack. E.g. what to do about recycling/rubbish, what to do on check out, how to use wood burner, etc
o There is nowhere to put food, but with a bit of thought this could be rectified.
o There are no blinds in any of the ground floor windows. As the bathroom is on the ground floor you do need a bit of privacy.
o It can be droughty in the bedroom during strong winds.
o Minor issues - the torch in the kitchen doesn’t work, the kettle needs de-scaling, it would be useful to have oven gloves.
The property description needs to better reflect the spiral staircases, only loo on ground floor, bedroom in eaves, lack of parking and wifi, and that the cottage is on a steep hill.

It is a lovely historical cottage that has everything needed for our stay. The bed was comfy, the owners left us milk and tea and coffee and a lovely packet of biscuits as a welcome.
Just needs an updated folder with information about a few things like what to do with the recycling and garbage.

ABeautiful, quirky cosy cottage . Amazing views and nicely laid out for such a tiny space loved it. There was an information folder with lots of detailed maps for walks around the area . Would love to stay again and make use of them .
I would love to have given it a deep clean, could have done with a good dust and get rid of the cobwebs . I am a holiday let cleaner so probably overly observant of details . I must add the place wasn't dirty at all !

Quiet location on hillside in small village between Stroud & Nailsworth. Tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits & milk provided. Several walking routes possible from accommodation. Two good pubs nearby in village.
Had problems contacting host for key collection. Bathroom two floors below bedroom. Dirty grill pan left in oven. Heating was on permanently on maximum setting, had to search for boiler manual to see how to turn it down/off. More storage space in bedroom & table in lounge would be useful. TV reception was poor, no signal on BBC. No internet.

The cottage was exactly what it said 'on the tin'; small, homely, with a real warm feel to it. It provided all I needed in terms of accommodation and was well located for what I wanted to do. There were some nice 'touches' left as a welcome, which were much appreciated. My labrador was very happy staying in her bed in the kitchen.
The food caddy hadn't been emptied after the last people had left and was a tad rank. Other than that, everything was fine.

I liked the stove and the country feel and getting away from the wet north. It had a good view and was well set out. I liked going on walks near by and I liked the view from the bedroom. I liked the privacy and the view from the bedroom and the old country feel.
The parking was a bit up the road and the house didn't have a bath and also it was down stairs took a bit of getting used to. When it rained in the bedroom it was a bit noisey but apart from that it was great.
