the house was spacious and comfortable, the patio area was lovely with enough seating for everyone.
9 Copes Gardens was advertised as ‘well placed for walkers, or if you fancy a car free holiday is accessed via a private pedestrian gate, as a riverside footpath leads into the countryside one way and the other way will take you into the centre of Truro’. This was a great attraction to us as I am a keen walker as is the whole family, and we were travelling with two dogs. When we arrived we decided to walk to Truro for the evening and collected the key and walked down to the gate, the house near the gate very obviously does not like strangers, but we felt we had the right of passage. We found the gate boarded up and the key we were given did not fit the gate anyway. We gave up and in the morning I phoned the caretaker. He told us ‘the gate was broken about 4 days ago and I have not been able to find the time to fix it’; I asked if he could possibly manage it while we were here because we would really like to use it. He said ‘I will try to get there tomorrow’. I really do not appreciate being lied to, it’s a very rare thing to have someone so blatantly lie to me and it has shocked me into writing this. The gate has quite obviously been boarded up for a long time and he has no intention of fixing it, and even if he did our key does not fit. You must change the ad for this property as it most definitely needs a car and the footpath that sounds so pleasant is not accessible. They also need new pans, the ones in the property were terrible.

Location & size
Lots of spiders on ceiling in one room and living room carpet had not been vacuumed. Only one loo roll and needed to buy more.
