No5 Saint Paul

The location within St Paul is great, the house has a lovely view, you have a little terrace if you are in room 3. Also this room is nice and dark if you like to sleep in, despite there being loads of sun early most mornings. What we loved was that all rooms had air condition, and again room 3 was the coolest (we were there in August and it is boiling hot most days, consistently over 30 degrees C). Room 2 is a bit in the middle on the first floor, room 1 is all the way at the top and very charming but the bath a bit small (bathtub in the room) and it can be quite warmish in the summer, given it is under the roof. The decor is lovely and very much thought through all the way into the details. It feels like a home away from home. The owners are super helpful, the housekeeper lives next door if you have any last minute needs. Everything was very clean, you have a dishwasher and they get you started with some tea bags, coffee pods, fruits and wine, what more does one need. Also as the house has no pool, make sure to check out the Hotel Chateau St Martin (in the house guide you get), get a day pass and enjoy the pool there and the lovely garden restaurant. Another tip is to go to the cheese shop in town on day one for a few essentials, including baguette and eggs and of course, cheese. Vence which is close by (10 min drive) has all the amenities one needs.

We rented the entire house. But if you only rent a room, you will have to be comfortable sharing dining and kitchen with strangers. This can still be fine, especially if you have the downstairs room (room 3) which is a bit more private and has a large bathroom, but a question of preference and budget you want to spend. Also, I would come for lesser days (probably 2-3), we stayed an entire week and St Paul is sweet but mostly restaurants, ice cream shops and art shops. And being in a walled in village did feel a bit claustrophic over time and challenging to get in and out of with a car. And you have to be comfortable driving in very narrow streets if you want to get to the house directly - best car size is a Cinque Cento or the like.

A gem in a heart of St Paul de Vence. Very clean, new finishes, thoughtful coffee, cream and vine were awaiting at the arrival. Easy to access, sublime view. Thank you.

One day is not enough.

The house was beautiful and the location delightful. Three great size bedrooms, each unique, with beautiful en suites.

A slightly more comfortable seating area on the main floor would have been even more ideal but that's very minor feedback!

pretty strict check in policy, only after 4pm and cannot help store luggages. Very hard to get to with big suitcases, ended up not even able to make cuz I was a solo girl
