Home away from home

The cottage had everything we needed, and it was full of charming fox-themed touches, which the host clearly loves. My kids adored all the little fox details! Everything was ready for us, and we felt right at home—warm, cozy, and comfortable. We had a lovely stay, and the next day we enjoyed a visit to Moffat town center. The location was great, too!

The only improvement we’d suggest is that the route to the cottage could be clearer, especially since we arrived quite late. It might help to have a few more visible signs or directions along the way. Once found, though, it’s all worth it!

Great place for a stay over or a few days walking.

It’s well thought out and equipped little cottage with two good sized bedroom. Lounge space is limited if there are 4 people but a good size and well equipped kitchen make up for that.

Pretty good for a few nights stay. Quite acceptable.

Cosy cottage and off the road. Parking space directly in front of the property. Quiet without feeling too isolated. Owner left us some snacks as a welcome gift - that’s a nice touch.

Accommodation felt rather cold when we first arrived. Needed heating to go straight on. Living room window is quite big so, at times, we needed to draw the curtain to ensure privacy - there’s a large victorian type property directly overlooking the cottage.

Perfect cottage for a family trip!

Beautiful cottage, perfect for a family - gutted we arrived so late and didn’t get to spend more time there! The layout, the decor, the beds, the shower - it was all fantastic. And the garden, what a beautiful little addition! Also super easy instructions to follow and great communication.

Lovely cottage. Very well presented. Felt like a home. Good communication with owners. Easy parking. Bathroom was downstairs. Basket there on arrival the eggs, oatcakes and biscuits.

Lovely place, in a lovely quiet location

Great place to stay enroute to The Highlands. Great garden for the dog. Issue with TV which owner tried to fix but needed more investigation, following a storm. We weren't too worried as we had dvd's and the Internet. Treats left for us and the dog. Really nice stay. Would stay again. Used Moffat Chippy for a delivery for evening meal, but the facilities are available to coo, own meals.

Spider who visited through the open roof light, lol! Not something the owner could've done anything about, but that didn't spoil the stay. Mr brother evicted it.

Very nicely presented, spacious property. Lovely and clean and really great location for Moffat. Lovely back garden too. Was great that the owners let us stay for one night on our way back to England from Scotland.

A beautiful little cottage with everything you could need!

Fox cottage is so pretty, a gorgeous place for us to break our very long journey from Skye to Cambridge in comfort. Everything was spotlessly clean and well thought out, from the welcome basket to the lights left on for us when we arrived late. We will definitely return again, thank you so much Neil and Kathryn.

Only one tiny grumble, the shower pressure was a bit low but still manageable. But there was plenty of hot water for four!

Beautiful welcoming cottage

Beautiful cottage in a lovely Scottish town. The cottage has been renovated to a high spec and is very comfortable. We were visiting with our two dogs and it was great to be able to have a lovely garden to sit out at night with them in peace. We also made use of the bbq on our first of two nights which was a lovely highlight. We all slept like logs even the dogs downstairs who we were a little worried would keep us up in unfamiliar surroundings. The fox theme is done nicely without being twee and all in all a lovely place to stay. It was great to be able to walk into town in 10/15 minutes too.

Nothing other than we could def have stayed longer. It was very convenient and a highlight on our tour of Northern England and Scotland.
