Abbaye Notre-Dame du Vivier - Le Bief du Vivier

Zeer mooie ligging, prima restaurant.

De uitrusting van de keuken, niet alles was even schoon, kastjes waren vettig. Diepvries is aan vervanging toe, 24/7 herrie. Pannen waren vies en inhoud van de keukenla met pollepels, spatels etc kan een opgrisbeurt gebruiken. Dit was te ranzig om mee te koken.

Toegang tot het huis via een app met codes voor alle reisgenoten werkte perfect.

The host was very quick to reply to questions. We arrived much later than expected due to a delay at Eurotunnel and this wasn't a problem, which was a relief. The gite is very unique and we appreciated the quiet, rural setting. There was plenty of parking

The bedlinen in at least one of the beds hadn't been changed since the last guests. There was also someone else's used towel on one of the beds when we arrived.

We would like to start on a positive note: the stay had a unique location in a valley surrounded by beautiful nature and the abbey. In other words, the property has a lot of potential. However, we were quite disappointed by the hygiene upon arrival. We found hair in the shower and on the sheets, as well as insects and dust. It seemed as though the property hadn’t been cleaned in a while, which immediately took away the joy of what was meant to be a relaxing family weekend. After informing our host—who was friendly—we noticed that only the bathroom was cleaned somewhat afterward. For a weekend that cost €800, we expected to arrive in a clean environment and not have to start our holiday by cleaning ourselves. Our young toddler couldn't safely crawl on the floor, which was particularly frustrating. It feels like our standards of cleanliness are clearly different.
