Charming place to stay when exploring Marseille

Charming, spacious and clean apartment with great views from the long curved balcony. Walkable distance to Le Vieux Port, Le Panier district with so many cafes, shops and restaurants etc. Hosts were very helpful and responsive whenever we messaged them a query. Beds super comfy and long which was good for the taller traveller! Kitchen facilities were excellent including the filter coffee and Nespresso machines.

The apartment was listed as having two bathrooms but there was no WC in the ensuite, just a shower and sink. Instead there was a single shared WC.

Amazing, spacious stylish comfy apartment

The apartment was just as shown in pictures. Was a great place to spend 4 days; easy access to transport links and plenty of attractions. After a busy day exploring was a great apartment to relax. There was enough space to have room to relax separately and be together as a family. Very well equipped and enjoyed a few home cooked meals. Can’t say enough great things about the apartment, we really enjoyed our stay.

Stunning building, lovely apartment but some changes needed

I should say at the outset that we did not actually stay at the Canebiere apartment because of delayed building works. Our hosts were kind enough to arrange alternative accommodation for us close to the beautiful Reform Church for which we were very grateful. It was a lovely apartment in a very old building in a great location with bars, cafes and restaurants just outside. The main bedroom was very spacious and comfortable.

I don't know if the property we stayed in is regularly rented out. Without wishing to be too harsh we did not find it the most comfortable accommodation and in truth I don't believe we would rented it based on having had to stay there (because of the building work at the place we were supposed to be at). The main bedroom was lovely but we found the rest of the apartment a little too formal and austere which might be keeping with the apartment's antiquity but doesn't make for the most comfortable holiday experience. For example there is just a rather uncomfortable sofa in the living room accompanied by about 8 antique chairs set up around it as if for a meeting. The kitchen is a bit functional with a small table and chairs which feel more suited to outside. But as I said earlier given the circumstances and the fact that we had to be found alternative accommodation at very short notice we recognise that things may have been affected by that. But I would close by saying that if this is to be rented out regularly there needs to be a bit of change made to give it a more homely feel.

It was a good designed property. Very comfortable and nice balcony.

There were many spiders and cockroaches in the property and in the evening we had to step over homeless people to go into the property. Location is not good for people with families.

Beautiful apartment but surrounded by noise

The property was beautiful inside, comfortable and well-equipped, and clean.

The resident upstairs was renovating his property and we weren’t told this until we raised a concern about the noise. We were told that this would be ‘only between 8am and 6pm’ as if that somehow makes it acceptable for us to be woken by drilling and hammering at 8am on holiday. We had further noise issues caused by the woman across the hall, who liked to leave her door open and shriek like a banshee. I asked her to close her door and she refused. That neighbour (or someone nearby) also liked to smoke, as the stairway constantly smelled of cigarette smoke, which was disgusting. The smell also found its way into the apartment at times. There were also cigarette ends in the groove between the lift shaft and stairs, which made the area look dirty. On our first morning we had to step over a homeless person sleeping across the entire front step. We mentioned this to the owner but got no response. While the owner apologised for the noise they repeated that it was only within certain hours, which doesn’t make a difference when you are on holiday. We agreed a small rebate on our stay but only because I asked for this several times. We would not return here. The apartment is beautiful but the issues surrounding it made us have a less than expected experience.

Fantastic apartment in central Marseille

The apartment is outstanding in many ways. There is every possible item you might need for self-catering, including tableware, serving platters and such. The bedrooms were of high quality and spacious. The bathrooms had all amentities provided. The living area furniture was of a very high quality and extra comfortable to use. The views from the balcony were good, although we couldn't quite sea the ocean. :) Communication with the hosts was excellent and Sylivie and Gilbert were very helpful when responding to my queries.

There is almost nothing we can find to say that we didn't like, apart from that we found the WC very cramped to use at the start but we got used to it by the time we left. I think the worst part about this appartment was having to leave!

Les Floralies is an amazing property with excellent hosts. It is beautifully presented, everything you could need is provided (towels, bed linen, cleaning products, toilet rolls, coffee, tea etc etc). Communication prior to arrival was very detailed and timely, with location and key details perfect and stress free. Small but significant details, like the host popping in and turning the heating up prior to our arrival time was very thoughtful & appreciated! The property is very very spacious, tastefully decorated, and really well equipped. The location was ideal for us, very central for walking everywhere, but also with the Metro and Tram stops immediately outside the building door. This does mean it's a busy, lively and sometimes a noisy location (National Police Dept opposite so car sirens going off a lot). For some people this noise might not be appreciated, however for us it's part of the city buzz and vibe! The apartment is on the 4th floor, serviced by stairs and a small lift; again not a problem for us, but might be a challenge for some. Overall I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this apartment and hosts. If we visit Marseille again this is my first stop to see if this apartment is available. Thank you for a fantastic, stress free and beautiful stay.

There was nothing that I could fault with this property. The hosts had covered everything! If I had to find something, I would suggest turning one of the bedrooms into twin beds rather than 2 double beds to make the property more appealing to families. Also it's marketed for 6 people, 2 of whom would have to sleep in the lounge. This is fine from a space perspective as it's a HUGE room, however these are sofas not beds for those 2 people.

SUPERB PROPERTY

Everything was just as you see it in the pictures. The appliances are very good quality! We never needed to contact the owners to report anything not working. Everything in the apartment very high quality! Sylvie and Gilbert rge owners were very helpful when we arrived! We never met them in person. But the way Sylvie dealt with us, we felt so comfortable in knowing we could contact them if we needed anything! We can't wait to return!

Très bel appartement dans un quartier animé près du Vieux Port et des Transports en commun.

L'aménagement de l'appartement. Les équipements disponibles (lave-linge, lave-vaisselle, four, plaque chauffante, la vaisselle et la verrerie). Deux douches séparées dont une privée dans la chambre des maîtres. Les stores mécaniques. L'efficacité de la climatisation. Les réponses rapides du propriétaire aux questions et problématiques (voir commentaire sur les ascenseurs) et le suivi qu'il a fait de nos demandes.

L'emplacement, quoique idéal pour sa proximité aux transports en commun et du Vieux Port est un peu bruyant le soir (mais l'insonorisation de l'appartement est très adéquat) et le quartier est très sale. Marseille est une ville très sale (déchets, grafitis) et malodorante. Si vous conduisez une voiture, attendez vous à une conduite digne du film "Taxi". Ils sont fous ces Marseillais sur la route !!! Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, l'ascenseur était en panne (l'appartement est au 4e étage) et comme c'était un Vendredi soir, il a fallu attendre au Lundi pour la cie vienne faire les réparations. Mais Gilbert a fait un suivi serré auprès de l'entreprise et nous a tenu au courant de tous les développements et s'est informé de notre satisfaction après les réparations. L'appartement est situé dans un immeuble de locaux professionnels et les cages d'escaliers sont... dégueulasses. Un bon coup de peinture est essentiel dans cet espace car il ne reflète vraiment pas la qualité de l'appartement et est très rébarbatif.

Très bon sejour

Appartement central, spacieux, bien équipé et confortable, jolie vue et lumineux. Il y a beaucoup d'équipement pour des sejours longue durée. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.

Seul le bâtiment et les parties communes m'ont déplue, ce n'est pas bien entretenu mais ce n'est pas du fait des propriétaires. La présence de la caméra dans le salon est compréhensible mais perturbante.
