Great option for a holiday in the mountains

Great location and easy to get there by train (1km from station,). Facilities very clean and well designed, on site restaurant was fairly smart for a campsite but food was great. Wider area had lots to offer if you like biking, hiking, walking. Mallnitz itself is likeable and has a good tourism centre.

Camping area for tents could have had more picnic tables. No onsite shop apart from a vending machine

The perfect spot for a adventure in the astrian alpes

Lovely atmosphere, especially if you are with family. So quiet and calm. The bathroom and shower is very clean. It is really is the perfect place to connect with nature. It was always a relief to get to HOCHoben after a long day of hiking.

Great campsite!

Campsite is great, all pitches are flat, nice grass. It's divided into few camper parts and two tents part. You park a car close to the tent (around 20-40 metres, but not directly next to it). Very clean and big toilets and showers. No electricity but you can get a key to the locker (limited amount) where you can charge anything you want. 3 washing machines (5 euro). A common fridge with a freezer in a drying room. Restaurant on site. Location is great for daily hikes. A bus near campsite. Small playground, table tennis and few animals, keep children busy :)

No electricity, no common kitchen, small room to wash vessels (usually have to wait for free sink).

Very nice camp ground, good location for hikes and for day trips to explore Carinthia further. Very modern and clean facilities. Loved it here with nice staff. The town itself had great options for dinner and bars as well as the camp grounds own restaurant. Stayed 4 nights very resonable price. Highly recommend :)))

Beautiful location and amazing nature

I booked two rooms, but when I arrived, I was surprised that there were no rooms, but there was an empty space. You should pay attention to this advertisement because I found that there is deception. They put pictures of the rooms for you and the reservation is made, but a day or two before the arrival, an email is sent that the reservation is an open space outdoor

Facilities were at high standart, the landscape was incredible and camping area was welcoming and really nice. Plus we came without booking at evening time and the staff came especially to check us in which was really kind Thanks for that

Spectacular views Modern facilities, even a laundry room Good coffee Friendly staff Amazing hikes - we drove to a nice lake and spent a whole day hiking there. Cute town nearby Would love to come back here next year!

No breakfast, but with some preparations you can have a complete breakfast. you can order croissants and some bread buns before 19:00 the day before. If you bring some fruit, jam, cheese or ham + grab some coffee at the bar + the croissants = a very pleasant morning :D Alternatively, you can grab breakfast from a bakery in town. The HOCHoben promised to bring breakfast options for guests by summer 2023 :) One more thing to consider is the drive there is quite uphill. Not a con, but something to be aware of, although the name kind of already suggests this.

Lovely location, provided with everything one could expect to find at a campground. Impressive how despite the number of people using the facilities the hot water never ran out and the place always looked nice and tidy

Fantastic campsite in every way

Location was fantastic, the staff was very friendly, toilet and bathroom were exceptionally clean and luxurious for a campsite which was a pleasant surprise. The location was great for various summer activities such as hiking etc. We are definitely going to recommend this place in the future. :)

I really can't think of any downsides of this place. Yes, the campsite is located quite high in the mountains so everyone should be prepared for some cold nights and unexpected gusts of wind. However for us, it was just another great part of the experience :)

Superb

We were very satisfied with HOCHoben camping and really enjoyed our hiking holiday there. Very nice and clean. Quiet place. Dogs are allowed there. Beautiful location for hiking. Very kind and helpful staff. There weren't many people during the time we traveled there so we even had a lot of privacy and space.

The ground was a little bit stony to peg down a tent but still comfortable for sleeping.
