Yoyogi Apartment 2-401 by Tranova

Location was fantastic - easy short walks to Shinjuku and Harajuku, close to Yoyogi Park; on JR Yamanote line so it's easy to get to anywhere in Tokyo even with small kids. Local supermarket, 100 Yen shop and convenience stores all within less than 100m; also close to fantastic taiyaki shop at Yoyogi Station! Easy to find, even on the first day. All the appliances were in working order, hairdryer was supplied, kitchen well stocked for a short stay. Very clean. Wifi was great, good reception and portable so very useful during the days.

The bathroom was horrible - had a strong smell of mould and no ventilation fan so we needed to keep the window open: not fun in the middle of winter! The bathtub was rickety and the side panels were loose, the door paint is in a bad state. The toilet cubicle was so small that my husband could not close the door when sitting on the toilet as his knees stuck out. Access was difficult with suitcases - the apartment is on 4th floor with a thin and winding staircase and no elevator.

The location was great. Nice neighborhood close enough to subway/train, but far enough away to not be too busy with people.

The apartment itself is falling apart. The bathrooms are dingy with peeling paint. The bed situation really makes it suitable for at most 4 people, and even then it was crowded with uncomfortable beds. The apartment is 4 flights up winding stairs (no elevator).
