McCormick Place 3BR Luxury Penthouse Duplex with Personal Rooftop and Optional Parking for 8 guests in Chicago South Loop

The property is beautifully located. On the outskirts of downtown, you can walk anywhere for all you need including dining. The penthouse is amazing. Your home away from home. The views are impeccable. The home itself is clean, smells great and looks like home. The decor is beautiful. Feels cozy and welcoming with piazza and luxury.

The hallways were not clean. Smelled like someone had a pet in the penthouse before we rented it. You could still smell the pet until I cleaned.

Great location near conference center and lots of restaurants. Easy ride to downtown Chicago

A little dirty, roof was leaking and very minimal on basic things like towels and soap.

I felt safe. Security stopped to tell me the door was unlocked. The mattresses were comfortable.

It definitely was not luxury. At first sight it looks really cute. However the first glance was deceptive. We went to the roof and it was much smaller than the pictures made it look. The couch cushions were scattered on the ground. We tried the fire-pit, but there was not any propane. The upstairs bedrooms were HOT. We had to go buy fans just to make it bearable. On top of that the AC pipes were condensing so bad puddles were forming on the floor. The couch looked really cool, but it was all individual pieces that did not lock together so it was very difficult to sit on much less sleep on. There were biting insects in one of the bedrooms. The foosball table was grossly over represented because it was child sized. We were given two towels per room and for 8 people for five days that was not enough. Plus there was not a washer or dryer so we had to be extra careful. Some of them smelled like mildew. A wet mop and bucket was left in the downstairs bedroom closet and was stinky. The entire apartment was much smaller than it looked in pictures. Also, we could not cut a melon that we brought because there was not a knife. There was a Playstation Four with games, but we could not use it because the cord was missing. Overall, It was all functional, but the furnishings were like what a newly married couple could afford to buy-cheap, looks good, but would need to be replaced as soon as possible. Arriving at night was difficult because the address was hard to see. It looked like it was the restaurant, but the entrance were doors next to the restaurant. Also, it said there is optional parking but we were not told nor offered in advance that it had to be reserved. We had to figure all that out late at night when we arrived, and it was all quite confusing. One of the refrigerator drawers was unusable because it was shattered. Not a big deal, but I just want to mention it so it can be fixed.
