Perfect weekend away in Cornwall

We had the best few days in Cornwall, perfect location for the seal sanctuary and we also went to Falmouth and St Ives, lodge was great, brilliant grounds to play, parking outside, clean comfortable staff were fantastic and the restaurant was very nice, fish and chips were 10/10

Booked this last minute and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was. For those with children this place if fabulou

Fantastic place to stay, had everything you needed to make the stay comfortable. Comfy beds and a good shower room and kitchen with all the basics. We also used the restaurant where the staff were so accommodating as we had our dog with us and made a table up for us in the bar, the food was delicious and really reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend and will probably stay again in the future. 10 out of 10 from us. 💕

WHEAL AMELIA

Spacious, clean and the extra thoughts of supplying towels, bathmat, teabags, coffee, sugar and milk was a welcomed bonus. Having original time of late check in and being able to check in on a day not usually seen as a check in was appreciated

A clean, comfortable, quiet place to stay

Immaculate property, nice quiet location, comfy beds. Plenty of space for 2 adults, 2 children and our small dog. Staff were helpful and quick to reply to queries. They even put up a Christmas tree for us. Would absolutely recommend and stay again in the future!

Had a relaxing stay at Wheal Amelia and enjoyed exploring Cornwall.

Was perfect as a base for our holiday, it was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay, it also has a couple of supermarkets nearby. It was In a great position for us to explore Cornwall and I would definitely come again.

The only thing that I felt could have been a little better was the sofa, it was a bit uncomfortable. On the whole the property was great and was how I expected, and in my opinion was good value for money.

Fabulous family friendly property in a stunning location.

Stunning property in a beautiful location. Family friendly with an amazing play area metres away. Dog friendly so didn’t need to leave our little pooch at home. Very easy to access with the lockbox to pick up keys making it easy to arrive at any time without hassle. Very clean inside, provided all the essentials needed for an enjoyable self catering experience. Can’t wait to visit again.

The only thing we didn’t like was we hadn’t booked for longer!! Didn’t want to leave. Plus next time we will book a lodge with a hot tub. Nothing we didn’t like about our stay, it was amazing!

Great break.

Absolutely loved this property. It was a last minute booking, didnt think much of it. What a lovely place, very peaceful, clean and cozy. Owners were lovely, had to contact them once trying to get into the property only because I hadnt checked my emails. I will most definitely be visiting again.

Staff / owners did all they could and more to make stay just right, any slight issues were sorted immediately and with a smile. Extremely pleasant and helpful. Restaurant lovely food. Child friendly. Fantastic owners and staff.

No freezer compartment in fridge but owners sorted a solution for us. Could do with a few more bits of kitchen equipment (spatula/baking tray/small sharp knife/glasses). Pillows not great but we brought our own.

Clean, comfortable & quiet

Very clean. Beds are comfortable and quiet location so we slept very well. Found out that you can play golf and crazy football for free when you stay here. It was a nice surprise and we enjoyed it.

beautiful looking lodge, looks great outside aswell as inside. there was clean linen and towels provided, clean toilets and shower. not too far from attractions. lodge warms up quickly with heating. Had Netflix and sky Tv, sofa turns into a bed which was a bonus and was comfortable. coffee was provided and milk pots. great lodge for couple or families.

booking.com isn’t clear about which lodge is yours once you arrive. had to contact the owner who was very helpful. No freezer only a fridge so unable to freeze food that we brought with us, only one toilet roll provided for the 2nights we were there and had to find someone to ask for more the following day. the cups were still dirty. there was no sponge provided for washing up. No big cooking spoons. Has issues with the oven, it smoked up the whole lodge every time we’re tried to cook something in it definitely something faulty with it. very disappointed with the barbecue stand, we couldn’t find it to begin with and was hidden at the back of the lodge behind some wood. was dirty and very small and flimsy, we took coal with us but we didn’t use it and resorted to the oven but that was bad as mentioned above. not enough sugar in the sugar jar. overall it was a good stay but over priced because there was no attention to these details that are vital. it would have felt like it was worth the price we paid if the above issues did not occur. there was no hair dryer or iron as it said on the advert everything is provided so we didn’t take these items with us thinking that they would be there.

Happy Holiday safe with children.

Location at Wheal Dream lovely, access to foot golf/golf was great. Host was friendly and quick to respond to any questions. Very clean lodge with lovely sunset across the golf course. Back garden area with washing line. Music with amazon alexa added bonus and sky tv. The best Sunday Carvery at the on site restaurant although run by brother of lodge owner so not fully connected to lodges would recommend.

Small issue doors rub on carpet no hair dryer and limited places to store toiletries in bathroom but such small minor points. No freezer.

If you like different...!

Excellent location, friendly staff, and excellent food (although this is a different entity to the accommodation) .. Much different experience to what I was used to... But quite homely ..warm lodges... Own parking good WiFi and simple to use .. ...nice selection of cooking tools. Mostly clean.. sky Freeview and a standard 32"TV ... Nice hot shower ...

Only a couple of things.. firstly the gas oven worked when it wanted to... And there was the odd cob web missed... The lounge settie was quite useless, I quickly got neck ache, no back or neck support... I think some of the cushions had been removed due to covid restrictions... But it was ok...

Great self catering getaway

The chalet was lovely, modern and clean. It had all the items we needed for our self catering holiday. The beds were comfy and the chalet lovely and warm with central heating. The location was quiet and peaceful.

The chairs were high at the breakfast bar, which made eating meals at it uncomfortable as we were stooped. Also we took our dog which was fab, but unfortunately the onsite pub / restaurant wouldn’t allow dogs inside so we had to travel out for a couple of evening meals which wasn’t ideal
