Room for Improvement in "Paradise"

Bed was comfy and supportive, great wifi, towels were sometimes clean, water heater was effective, shared shampoo and body soap was provided in the shower area, sound levels were decent inside the room, bugs were minimal inside the room, natural (frog, lizard, bird) sounds outside the room were relaxing and beautiful, the food looked delicious, complimentary drinking water, coffee and tea station; the pool seemed clean, the deck chairs seemed solid/sturdy, (3-10 minute) walking distance to beach and cafes; some (mostly female) staff were kind, friendly, and helpful throughout

Hand soap would be a good addition/staple next to dorm-bathroom-sink(s), towels sometimes smelled moldy, shower water pressure was okay (having a spray nozzle closer to or inside shower area would be a good addition), opening and closing the room-door fully was very loud (WD-40 might help, or double-checking the door hinges/alignment?), secure-locker only available with key deposit, some floorboards on the (darker/extension?) deck were loose/safety-hazard (need to be secured), some bartenders seemed to be drinking alcohol on the job and some (male) bartenders/staff made escalating inappropriate advances/sexual harassment (when I said "no means no," one responded "no means yes" which was very concerning; another followed me into the room when I was about to take a shower, etc.)

A little haven of peace!

I absolutely loved my stay here. The room was perfect – clean, comfortable, and beautifully arranged. The location, surrounded by rice fields and far from the hustle and bustle, was exactly what I was looking for. It’s so peaceful, yet just a short walk to the temple and some stunning beaches only five minutes away. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive — I truly felt cared for throughout my stay. I was genuinely sad to leave! A big thank you to the whole team for making my time here so special. I’ll definitely be back!

The staff were so lovely! Shoutout to J, the young guy - bar staff. He makes the stay so much more welcoming. Love the pool, and the place is so close to the surf. Scooters available to rent.

No ATM nearby. You need to book a scooter through the Grab app or hire one from Swell. Drink prices are pretty close to Aus prices.

I loved just about everything about this hostel, the private room is so worth it. I highly recommend

Very friendly staff, great menu and food, surrounded by rice fields and pretty quiet in rooms. Tea kettle and coffee and tea is a nice amenity among the poolside restaurant on the 2nd floor with beautiful views, I highly recommend staying at Swell.

Super polite and friendly staff. Clean bedrooms, nice bathroom. Beautiful swimming pool and facilities. I once ate dinner and it was good. Near the surfing beach, good waves early morning. Recommended, would come back.

Generally it was all good. Just during certain hours during the night, there were some very small insects, that didn't bite anyone else I talked to but me. So that stays a mystery. I Would have stayed much longer if it wasn't for this.

AMAZING ROOF, super basic small and dirty dorms

Huge spacious roof was AMAZING pool was cool Definitely exceeded my expectations on that matter GO ON THE ROOF FOR SUNRISE!! BUT ⬇️⬇️⬇️

... the dorm rooms are small and dirty and didn't get cleaned once during my three day stay. The bathroom has no window (just a ventilation system which is not very effective) so even with bathroom door open and main door open after a shower the bathroom mirror will stay wet fir an hour. That's how little airflow there is. Failure in building design. Floor was disgusting.

Perfect experience

Nice place with very efficient and friendly staff members. Perfect localised to both surf (beach at the end of the road, around the corner) or visit Tanah Lot. I deeply recommend it.

Quiet place with great views

Staff was friendly. Common areas are amazing. The hostel is far from any busy area, which in my opinion is very good. The beach close to it is great.

The dorm feels humid and the bathroom needs some deep cleaning.

Staff are super super friendly and will help you with anything you ask for. They make you feel really welcome. The pool area with bar is great. It's a beautiful location and very calm area, so nice to walk among the ricefields to the beach for surfing. They also have scooters for renting at a good price.

Relaxing, beautiful and just what I needed for the last few days of my time in Bali.

The scenery is beyond incredible. It's so quiet here too so you can get a good night sleep. So lovely to be in the rooftop pool during sunset, having a cocktail and relaxing. The staff here are super friendly. And it's just a 5 minute walk from the beach where there are lots of small local places to eat! I also really loved the food here at Swell. There was quite a wide selection on the menu, and it was a normal price for any "restaurant" style venue. I will definitely stay here again.

The room didn't feel as clean as what it could have. When I arrived it smelled somewhat stale. I understand they use the moth balls in wet areas to keep bugs out but it smelt very chemically. Also, I was only provided with 1 towel, and even though I was provided with tea and coffee, there was no kettle in my room so couldn't utilise the facilities. Also, the pool table isn't in great shape and there is only 1 questions that you can use, and even that one is in poor shape.

Great antidote to the large impersonal hotels

Beautiful views from the terrace bar and lovely infinity pool. Rooms are clean and comfortable with nice views over rice fields on both sides. Staff are super friendly and willing to help with anything but also very relaxed. Food is very good too. Near the sea with a nice place to sit and watch the sunsets
