Beautiful heritage property perfect for older families

Gorgeous views, beautifully decorated and a lovely heritage property that had been thoughtfully done up. Easy to walk into Bangor, and very quiet area. Thoughtful food and drink provided which was wonderful on the first night. The kitchen/downstairs lounge is lovely, light and airy, and the photos don’t do it justice.

The layout probably didn’t suit our family that well as a family of 4 with 2 young children - it would suit an extended family, or this with older children really well though. The main bedroom was really quite far from the twin room. There is also a LOT of steps (so my 3yo son spent most of the stay seeing how many he could jump down from). Definitely don’t stay if you have a pram - there are steps straight in from the front door. It’s worth noting that there’s no doors between the master bedroom and the lounge so limited noise privacy. If you want to eat up at the main dining table you need to carry plates/food up lots of steps. Additionally, there weren’t any keys to the garden, so in theory children could get in the garden and if they are climbers, get over the wall to the sea/rocks. Finally, a slight point that felt a bit annoying (although I can’t understand why they have it). You can’t open the window in the laundry room, so you need to turn the heating on to properly dry clothes if it’s raining, but you’re charged if you use too much heating. It’s already quite an expensive property compared to others and this felt a bit frustrating.

A cottage as close to the sea as you'll find

Splash Cottage is a little piece of heaven. The cottage itself is larger than you would think with two living spaces, a laundry room, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. All levels have the glorious view across the Belfast Lough and there's a never-ending parade of ferries, cruise ships and other boats, but my favourite sport was on the level that'd to the garden. Here you find a lovely kitchen space to the back and a sofa, a patio door and the smell and sound of the sea. We wanted a lazy holiday and this was the perfect spot for it and anyone who can't get enough of the sea. It was simply wonderful. 😊

Beautiful water front house!

Beautiful property right on the sea front, with the most incredible views. Very comfortable with everything you need inside. Parking available on the street right next to the property. Would highly recommend, and book again when visiting! Very friendly and helpful hosts, thank you Jody & Max.

Absolutely LOVED the Splash cottage. It was in a great location, very well stocked and as cozy and comfy as home. Sea views are beyond brilliant. We will be back. Hosts were awesome too!!

It was the most beautiful home ever.!! It was clean, spacious, had everything that you needed. The bath was gorgeous. The bedrooms were perfect. The view was lovely. Norman was amazing, such a lovely, lovely man.his hospitality was out of this world...We felt so welcome, so looked after....We will be returning. Thankyou for all you did for us, it was above and beyond, just so lovely. We enjoy every minute.❤️❤️

fantastic house and friendly, helpful host

Lots of space for a family of 6, the views were amazing. The balcony and seating area in the garden were lovely places to sit and take in the views of the sea and watch the boats!

No parking at property, was initially difficult to find a space close to the property on a sunny Saturday. Sunday and Monday parking was fine.
