Dalesway Cottage

Great location. Bowness great for walks, boat hires, cruises, and car ferries. Lots of places to eat, drink, cafes etc. Scenery from Lake...spectacular. Parking right bedside Cottage. We arrived around 4 pm in daylight. Took a few minutes to work out where Cottage was and parking, so be aware if arriving in dark....no street lighting at the top end of Dalesway in the dark. Take a large torch. It is great to enter property through the conservatory. Well stocked kitchen. Everywhere very clean. The beds are really comfy. The shower room is great.

Steep but only short (in the grand scheme) walking to/from Bowness to the Cottage. We tried both routes advised, can be tiresome after a days walking and sore legs. ;) Parking can get a little tight with the neighbours when they park. After a day hiking, we all found sofas REALLY uncomfortable :((, which was very frustrating when trying to get 4 adults who want to relax and get comfortable. My husband ended up lying on the floor with cushions pulled from the conservatory. A larger floor rug in the lounge would also be nice rather than having to lie on floorboards, and would make it a little more cosy for feet. No coffee table to put your glasses or cups on. Ended up, pulling the table with lamp on from under the stairs to use. When we arrived, a dribble of handsoap in the bathroom dispenser, so needed to purchase and fill up..

What a gorgeous home to stay in. The location was superb for access to the lake, shops and restaurants. The play room was a massive hit with our little boy.

well equipped, clean, location / near to the town, parking space outside, comfy bed, good kitchen, information provided, bathroom had good size shower

Initially the tv wasn’t working / remote control didn’t seem to work and/or wi fi signal dropped
